A Berry Blend that works for me
I started adding bulk supplements to my diet recently. My father passed away in his mid fifties. My grandfather, and his father, passed away in their mid fifties too, so I sort of expected the same. All from heart attacks...so it was a concern. I had read some interesting articles on improving heart health by increased consumption of berries and decided to give it a try.I blend fresh 1/4 cup each blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and rasberries and about 20 red grapes with 1 cleaned stalk of celery and raw purple cabbage, 10 grams of Bulk Supplements White Mulberry, 20 grams of Bulk Supplements Blueberry Extract, 20 grams of Beet Elite and 20 grams of Bulk Supplements Beet Extract and a scoop of Green Superfoods with about 5 oz of carrot juice and a bunch of ice. I take this 30-35 minutes before my daily run when I can, or immediately after. It seems to work best before - if I can give it the 30 minutes before starting. I had tried beet juice before, and got good results, tried beet elite before, got good results...but this concoction is delicious, and seems to work really well.If just 20% of the articles are true, then my next check-up I'm hoping for under 150 serum cholesteral total (I'm at 180 now) stable blood pressure (been borderline high) and lower blood sugar (borderline high, but not diabetic)..we'll see.Bulk supplements are good powder form, and for the amount I take, quite economical. Grocery store Blueberries, Blackberries, and Rasberries are a bit pricey, and this increases berry consumption with a lot less $.The packaging is in foil sealing bags that tend to be difficult, a bit tricky, but I throw the foil bag inside a Gallon Ziploc bag with a slidelock and made it easy for me. So, even when the foil lock doesn't stay engaged. the ziploc keeps it fresh.

BEST VITAMIN YOU CAN BUY
Add this to your morning shake and it is the best vitamin you can ever out into your body.Health benefits of mulberriesDelicious, fleshy, succulent mulberries are less in calories (just 43 calories per 100 g). They compose of health-promoting phytonutrient compounds like polyphenol pigment antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that are essential for optimum health.Mulberries have significantly high amounts of phenolic flavonoid phytochemicals called anthocyanins. Scientific studies have shown that consumption of berries has potential health effects against cancer, aging and neurological diseases, inflammation, diabetes, and bacterial infections. The berries contain resveratrol, another polyphenol flavonoid antioxidant. Resveratrol protects against stroke risk by altering molecular mechanisms in the blood vessels; reducing their susceptibility to damage through reduced activity of angiotensin (a systemic hormone causing blood vessel constriction that would elevate blood pressure) but potentiating production of the vasodilator hormone, nitric oxide. Also, these berries are excellent sources of vitamin-C (36.4 mg per 100, about 61% of RDI), which is also a powerful natural antioxidant. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin-C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents, counter inflammation and scavenge harmful free radicals.Further, the berries also contain small amounts of vitamin-A, and vitamin-E in addition to the antioxidants mentioned above. Consumption of mulberry provides another group of health promoting flavonoid poly phenolic antioxidants such as lutein, zeaxanthin, ß-carotene and a-carotene in small but notably significant amounts. Altogether, these compounds help act as protect from harmful effects of oxygen-derived free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) that play a role in aging and various disease processes.Zeaxanthin, an important dietary carotenoid selectively concentrates into the retinal macula lutea, where it thought to provide antioxidant functions and protects the retina from the harmful ultraviolet rays through light-filtering actions.Mulberries are an excellent source of iron, which is a rare feature among berries, contain 1.85 mg/100 g of fruits (about 23% of RDI). Iron, being a component of hemoglobin inside the red blood cells, determines the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. They also a good source of minerals like potassium, manganese, and magnesium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure. The body uses manganese as a co-factor for the antioxidant enzyme, superoxide dismutase. They are rich in B-complex group of vitamins, and vitamin K. Contain very good amounts of vitamin B-6, niacin, riboflavin and folic acid. These vitamins function as co-factors and help the human body in the metabolism of carbohydrates, protein, and fats.

Chinese Home Remedy for Blood Sugar Management
For a long time, Chinese people have used WHITE MULBERRY to be able to help them control their blood glucose. I drink it every evening poured in some hot water (as a tea), with some Camomile (which has a soothing effect on digestion). I like its taste and I feel good after drinking it, but I don't know how much it is effective on our blood sugar levels.

I have felt much better since adding this to my smoothies a few times ...
While it is hard to totally quantify the health benefits of Mulberry extract, I have felt much better since adding this to my smoothies a few times a week. That may just be a result of a better diet in general. A great price point, adds some nice flavor to smoothies.

This product is extract of LEAVES not berries
So many reviews yammering on abt berries, berries, mulberries, reservatrol, etc. All true but that isn't what this product is: this is the extraction of the magic from the LEAVES of the tree which fruits with mulberries.I've added it (1/4 tsp in my juice) to a whole pile of supplements to generally be anti-inflammatory. So far, so good. It's basically a preventative for me because I'm uptight & self-regulated.Anyway, this isn't berries so look up what leaves are for or find berry extract but stop shoveling things in yr mouths without reading the label because it gives all alternative nutritional supplementation a bad name when you take something wrongly & fall ill. Be safe everyone, good luck.

I needed to start slower.
I may have jumped into taking this supplement too fast for my body to adjust. I started taking the recommended dosage before my 3 meals in one day. But by the end of the day I had a horrific headache. So I am backing off to just one meal and work into it. Only time will tell if it helps. That is why I gave it three stars. I would say start slow if you don't take many supplements on a regular basis. I am very new to the supplement routine. It does taste good, I would give 5 stars for that.
