Will the food stains that have been mentioned in some reviews wash off with sudsy water and a steelwool scrubber?

Are the silicone feet sufficient to keep this Stainless Steel spoon rest off the surface so it can be used on an induction cooktop?

Yes the base of the product is raised a bit from the stove top. I have a 30-inch gas range. The product fits between the back burners with an inch or more room on both sides. I am unfamiliar with induction cooktops and how far out the heat radiates or the temperature at which it does. Hope this helps some.

is this machine washable dishwasher safe?

As I just run it under water or soapy water wjhen needed. I found it's not necessary to put it in the dishwasher.

What diameter size lid will this hold?

It holds my 6 qt Dutch Oven lid although not as straight up as smaller lids. Works well.
