Excellent coffee grinder!!!
Was looking for my first high quality grinder at an affordable price. Most of the other models have a timer or stop by wieght. This model has a manual button. I find it to be just fine without those features. I simply weigh the amount of beans prior to grinding. Then I know the correct amount of coffee is ready. Does not take much time. I bought a cheap digital scale. Under $10 bucks. It has metal burrs and grinds extremely fine for esspresso. Very pleased with purchase. I would recommend also purchasing a funnel for your portafilter. This does away with any small cleanup.

Works well and a little messy
Works great with the exception of having to watch the grind and run it multiple times in order to avoid making a mess. The nature of the beast is also that the portafilter basket tends to drip water onto the base. These are problem that were avoided using a container to catch the grinds and then pouring them into the portafilter. It is easily adjusted.

Very Pleased!
I was expecting this not to grind very fine, but it actually grind too fine almost to a powder. So I just dial it down to more coarse because too fine is not good for espresso. Apparently there are a few DUMB reviews that makes people think twice about buying this. Please ignore those. This is a good expresso grinder AND its a good price. Perfect for me because I don't want a digital screen and bells and whistles, its stupid unless you have a coffee shop You just push to start and push to stop.

The Impeller wears out after about 5 months, causing the grinder to stop working.
I have owned this grinder for 5 months. It has always been very noisy, but I am willing to overlook that. It did a good job of grinding coffee at all ranges listed on it's adjustable collar. However, there is a plastic impeller underneath the burrs, that is designed to fling the ground coffee out of the shoot. This impeller wore out after only 5 months of morning use, once a day. My grinder had a metal cover that gave the appearance the impeller was made of metal, but that was just a thin piece of sheet metal over a black plastic impeller. Very deceptive manufacturing.I also purchased a 4 year extended warranty, but that was no use to me, because they said I needed to use the manufacturer's warranty, as it was less than a year. I attempted to contact the manufacturer, Breville. They are in another country and was never able to get through their phone menus. I ended up giving up and checking online for a replacement impeller. Breville will not sell any parts to repair their products.I did find a third party group that 3d prints the impellers, still plastic, but, better than nothing. I fixed the machine myself and it works okay, no thanks the the extended warranty or Breville.I will never buy another Breville product and will never buy another extended warranty. I am a very dissatisfied customer and hope this review helps others avoid the same deceptive products that Breville and the extended warranty sell.

Good grinder but dose control is not real
The machine does a great job grinding, at least for now. However, the dose control part is somewhat deceiving. The machine will not time or control the dose in any way. You have to figure out the approximate dose and use a supplied tool to shave your tamped coffee directly on the porta filter. You should set the level of shaving based on a previously measured dose.

Why we waited so long….
I don’t know why we waited so long to get one. We had a Walmart grinder and well this was such a nice upgrade! Don’t wait.

Great value, simple machine.
I use this as a decaf grinder for my espresso machine and it’s great. Seems consistent but there’s no way to adjust dosage for set amounts, purely an on/off machine. For some reason it’s messier than my other grinder but for the price it’s a great setup. Pretty quiet. One gripe is the bean hopper is small, maybe 8 ounces of beans will fit. My other machine holds at least 12 but it’s slightly taller.
