I LOVE this little knife!!! It works every bit as well as a very expensive electric knife. I am sooo happy with this purchase. I used it both on a ham and a turkey. It is very easy to control and cuts both thick and thin slices with ease. Additionally, it is very easy to clean. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for an electric knife!!

We make homemade bread constantly. This electric knife works great so we don’t smash the entire loaf while trying to cut it. Knife is durable, easy to wash and the perfect size.

The knife works well. Carved up a whole ham without trouble. The blade release button is a bit hard to find; not intuitive.

The media could not be loaded. Really cool invention!!! I’ve been looking for an electric knife to cut San Francisco sourdough with, and this one finally does the trick. If you know SF sourdough, you know how tough and crusty the exterior can be while the inside stays perfectly soft and chewy. Regular knives either tear it up or struggle to get through the crust cleanly.This electric knife glides through with minimal effort, giving you perfect, clean slices every time. It feels sturdy, easy to grip, and isn’t too loud. Cleanup is quick and painless, and the blade release makes it super convenient. I’ve even started using it for other crusty breads and meats.If you’re a bread aficionado or just want an easier way to get through dense loaves, this is absolutely worth it.

Works better than expected. I used this to cut new seat cushions. The blade was sharp and did great. Super easy to use. I highly recommend it.

Originally bought one over 20 years ago at the recommendation of Alton Brown and I've never looked back.Great product at a great price and super useful for slicing things that would make a mess or you'd squash it flat otherwise.I use it for slicing fresh baked bread right out of the oven, grilled cheese sandwiches that you can't cut hot without smashing them (except with a laser cutter), really big submarine sandwiches that would make a mess and of course... meats.Love this product and at $19.99 it can't be beat and if you don't like it, it's disposable.

update on my review:This is week 3 and the knife started messing up for me. I was slicing a couple of loaves of bread with it and it stopped working so I thought it might just be overheated. I let it sit for about half an hour & when I tried again it worked for a couple of minutes, then stopped again so I thought, "ok, I didn't let it cool down enough yet." So I let it sit for about 90 minutes or so and the same situation- it worked for a minute or two and then stopped. I had to get a return label for it because I won't keep an instrument like this that works so poorly. If an electric knife can't handle a couple of loaves of bread then it's not a good knife and that is disappointing since Black & Decker's always delivered quality, in my own experiences. Hopefully, the replacement knife will work much better. I will say that Amazon was quick and prompt with handling the return & exchange so I'm happy with Amazon.I've been trying my hand at making homemade bread and of course, the biggest pain has always been slicing the bread nicely. With a manual serrated knife I can get some of the bread sliced nicely but not as thinly as I'd like and then of course, you reach the stage where the bread doesn't slice nicely anymore at all with a manual knife so I was looking for other ways to do this without buying an expensive meat slicer. I was looking into those bread slice boards that are available that give you the proper spacing of where to cut the bread but considering all they do is stand there while you slice, the prices seemed a bit steep for this frugal fellow. I looked into electric knives and decided to take a chance on this since it had a lot of great reviews and I have to say, as much as I HATE spending money on things, this was an excellent investment.Now mind you, I'm reviewing this knife after about 2 weeks of using it so I can't speak for the longevity of the knife but I can tell you that it works absolutely perfectly on slicing homemade bread. I have used it on homemade white bread, homemade french bread loaves so far and I get amazingly thin slices of bread- as good as you would get from store bought slices, only they obviously taste a whole lot better and at least you know what you're putting into your body. I really recommend this electric knife; it's easy to use, easy to clean and for the price, it can't be beat, in my opinion.
