An Excellent period style lighter.
Needed this for a pre 'zippo' era show, and matches would have been a faff.It took some lighting initially, but a lovely item, with a good mechanism too.Feels solid but light weight too.Needed well filling with fluid, and topping up, perhaps will get better with constant use.

Disappointing at First.
Rather disappointed with this lighter at first but the I changed the flint for a longer one than it was supplied with and now it lights first time most times. Not much good in a wind but retains fuel surprisingly well. Nice vintage look and feel!

Great Retro Style Lighter
Quite heavy for its size, well-made, maybe solid brass, could be wrong due to its antiquated finish. Nice 1950's retro-style lighter all the same. Lights first time every time, nice big flame. Easy to fill and change flints. I'll recommend this nice quirky little lighter, more curious than a Clipper!

Fiddly
Nice looking petenad colouring but more of a showpiece than a functional lighter.

Beautiful But Not Sure if Real Brass
Beautiful but not sure if it's brass. There was a squiggly scratch in the metal on the back. There's no stamp indicating metal composition, brand etc. The top cover latch wears against the ignition wheel when it closes, it has already chewed up the inner edge quite a bit. Having said all that, I still like it, those are just the things I've noticed so far. I love the design, weight and size. The top and bottom parts and internals are not Bronze, because they are attracted to magnets.Edit: After two days of contant play, the pin in the hinge of the cover keeps moving out, I pulled it out and put it in the other way around and it fixed it.Big problem though, there was a big burr on the cover's peg, the sticking up bit the cover hinges on. I filed it off and tested it for lead which came up positive. I know nickel plating uses lead and parts are often attached with lead solder, I just don't feel safe using it now, which bums me out because I really love this lighter. I wish it was sold with info about its construction, a metal composition stamp and makers stamp.
