Sharper Image Info Globe Scrolling Caller ID

I found a similar one for almost 200 dollars! I got this one for only 90. It came fast and it works great. Before we had the Olympia Caller ID Globe, but we couldn't find it online. This one works exactly the same. It display caller ID, the date and messages. I bought mine used, however the quality was excellent! It was essentially new!

when it works this is a fun item but this one did not work at all and there is NO customer support. the phones are disconnected

Love the way this product performs, easily viewable from across a room which was exactly what we needed. Image is clear and sharp and works well both in the daylight and at night as long it is not placed in a brightly lit or sunny area. Light is a little bright for nighttime if placed in a bedroom, it should have a bright and dim mode setting as well as an automatic dimmer setting.Overall I am very pleased with the product and all the little extras that it includes.Item lasted 1 year and a few days before it would light up only randomly to the point where the unit is now usless.Would like to be able to change review from 5 star to 2 star but am unable to do so.

I loved the design & that is why I bought it. I could not afford a brand new one so that is why I purchased the previously used one. I feel the person misrepresented the item. This is the first clock I have ever owned that you can only get the time between 3pm & 3:15 am. Not happy that you can only know the time 12 hours a day.

The idea behind this caller ID unit is really wonderful. I can just watch it go through its different patterns for hours. However there are a few things that I do not like about it. My wife and I decided to put this unit in our kitchen and we can distinctly hear the motor whirling even over the sound of the refrigerator. The buttons are not well designed and you have to push them just right to get the command input. On the positive side, the instruction book that comes with the unit is well written and very easy to follow. Installation was a snap and the unit even came with the backup batteries. It looks GREAT and is really fun to watch. I would recommend it to others as long as it is going somewhere other than a bedroom or other room that you like to have silence in.

I bought this for my son-in-law after he saw mine. The alphanumerics are clear &easy to read. Saves a lot of getting up & down to check caller ID - Even has a nice greeting - we love ours! We've had it for three years and was worth every penny.

thi is difficult for me to write. i bought one in 2008 (amazon can verify). i love it. it is great. i paid about 60 bucks. What happened. i see these for about $300. a power surge in recent storms caused an eeprom error. it had lasted for years. however there is not way i am going to pay that price. even if it lasts years, which i believe it will not do, given the comments here, i need to know why it is so much. amazon can verify my pruchase of one from sharper image through this site here in 2008. mine did use 3 AAA batteries. i have seen others with rechargeable batteries (to keep the info current). Come on folks, can you tell me why this has gotten so expensive.5 star for the fun and utility1 star for feeling like i am getting so ripped off
