I actually appreciate that the effect is a bit expensive, yet still affordable. Most people won't spend that much on a Halloween effect because they don't value it...it just means less people are likely to have the effect. Remember how lame it was once every other house started decorating with a witch that was splatted on a tree/the side of the house? I don't want that to happen with this. In other words, I'd rather pay a bit more for an effect that most people aren't willing to spend $40 on. It could be worse, they could be charging $100 for the effect and then only pro-haunters would be buying it.At any rate, the effect is well worth the money. I've posted some videos of test runs I've done at home and I've gotten a lot of positive responses. The only other time I've received as much feedback is when I posted pics the day my first child was born.I had a neighbor walking by while I was testing (at midnight) and he actually stopped to watch it and said, "now that's pretty cool". He's never said more than "hi" to me before that.I'm using the DVD by projecting it onto the back of the mini blinds in our upstairs window. I'm using an Optima PK301 (not the brightest) and it looks amazing. The lighting seems to be just bright enough to make the images subtle, but very much noticible. It looks like the ghosts are 3D. I also used a projector screen I made using a frosted shower curtain and PVC pipe and it looked really good projecting through the back of that, but it looked like I had a GIANT TV in my front window, and the neighborhood isn't safe enough to let people assume that. Maybe next year after we move.I don't recommended this to anybody who lives around me because I want it all for myself. I do recommend it to everybody else...you may regret it when you first pop in the DVD, but you won't regret it once you see people react to the effect. The reaction you get from this effect is the reason why we home haunters do what we do.

Tried it out and it looks great. Very happy with the product and cant wait ...
Bought this for Halloween this year. Tried it out and it looks great. Very happy with the product and cant wait to use it. I also bought the standard screen for the window. It works well but a bit on the small side. I have paned windows and to get it to look right I ended up cutting the screen to each pane. Long process and did not have enough material to cover the entire window. So instead I just put up a cheap white sheet over the windows and rear projected. I also removed the screen. It looks pretty good. I found it helpful to have some ambient light in the room. That way you do not see the outline of the projector. I also turned down the brightness of the projector. It still looks vivid but reduces the projector outline. I am going to use the apparition video in our dining room window. Looks creepy but not so creepy that it will scare the neighborhood kids. We have a lot of pre-school kids in our neighborhood. We want it to be fun but not frightening. I will probably get the bone chillers version for next year..

Overall, I am pleased.
Let me start with the positives: Extremely cool and professional effects! I used this to project the images into a front window using a frosted shower curtain and rear projection. I had multiple compliments from the families of trick or treaters including comments like, "that looks like something you would see at Disneyworld", "that looks so realistic", "do you really have ghosts in your house?" etc.The negatives: I may have received a defective copy, but I have been unable to get the DVD to play ONLY "Roaming Phantoms". This was my preferred display considering the number of small children in the neighborhood. No matter how many times I went in and ensured I had the "Roaming Phantoms" selected, the "Startling Specters" continued to play randomly - probably causing nightmares for a few of the little ones. I also noticed that even when I selected "Play All", the DVD seemed to rotate between 1-3 of the phantoms instead of all 4. The "bride" always seemed to be left out. Poor bride.Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I think the quality of the effects is outstanding. I just wish the DVD wasn't quite so buggy.

A must have for Halloween

Not what you'd expect
It's all CGI and a lot a bit weak/weird. Not scary enough for Halloween.

Love it, so glad I found this!
We just used it for Halloween and wow, I can’t believe how cool it turned out. I already had a projector and DVD player and we set it up in our upstairs bedroom window. I was going to get a shower curtain at the store, but ran out of time so I grabbed this mesh sheer fabric/cloth I had that was all wrinkly and hoped for the best. The fabric is similar to white painter drop cloth, real cheap junk. I used clothes pins and hung it up on my curtain rod against the window. The window has grids so I wasn’t sure if it would look terrible on the outside, but it was amazing. Kids were running from the house and people stood outside watching the window and saying how cool it was. Super excited to use this every year. Might find another one for my downstairs window too.

Those little kids just stood with shocked and aww...
This is just the best for Halloween! Some crazy kid said our graveyard wasn't scary enough. The next year, we plugged this video into our computer, hooked up the projector and pointed it on to a white sheet we hung in front of the window, with a little speaker facing the outside. Those little kids just stood with shocked and aww. One princess came up to the front door and pointed at the window with her mouth open. Her dad had to remind her to say, trick or treat. She couldn't do it! We asked that same kid (from the year before) and his 6 buddies if it was scary now? He said, "YES! I told EVERYONE to go to your house! I can't wait to see what's going to happen next year!!" Oh geez... next year? But hey, we love that little brat (he came by three times that night with different masks), so here's to next year... Maybe a fog machine...

Very cool ghostly fx
This DVD is very amazing and scary. I like that it gives you options for playing the content. You can play it on tv or project it. I can’t wait until this Halloween to project it onto a chaffon black material Over my window. The chaffon material should give the illusion that I want
