I often ride with my Kati(doggie). Doing the job I did this year (rope access tech) I was always thinking about safety and worse case scenarios. I hit the breaks hard one day and little Kati fell to the floor. It scared me and gave me pause. I thought "if humans have to wear seatbelts than why don't dogs have to?" So I went searching and found a harness made with the safest materials and best design. The one I found here is amazing! It's got a solid chest plate and all the straps are made with actual seat belt nylon. Very very safe because if you did get in a collision, and the dog got pulled super hard, the chest plate would put equal pressure on the dog's chest. Further more when they are belted in they stay in their seat better and don't move around the car. As a rope access technician, and being very picky when it comes to material and design I am very impressed with this harness! I bought xs for my 10lb long hair Chihuahua. Cons: the chest plate on xs is so rigid it kinda pushes into my 10lb dogs neck. If the neck was cut a bit lower it would be a good all around harness, as I mean for wearing around the house. But that's ok because I love the safety of the chest plate. Very nicely done guys!

I looked at a lot of harnesses. I really wanted something easy and well built. Much of the stuff you purchase that comes in the mail looks cheaply made. Many high reviews are price over quality. I ended up purchasing this one for a reasonable price. I was surprized this one was perfect! The large fit my German Shepherd well out of the box. It looks well made with the extra stitching. The clips are plastic,but a hardened plastic. My boys tactical vest is all metal clips.I found the metal clips to make the harness heavier and noisy. For me this works in the car. My only request is more color options!

We have a 2yo Classic American Bully who loves to ride in the car so we take him everywhere. This harness has been used almost daily for the last 18 months. when he was 60lbs and it has held up great. It is very sturdy and when buckled in with a dog seat belt I feel very confident in it's ability to keep my dog safe and inside the car. He can't pull out of it. It washes easily and hasn't shown any signs of wear. It is comfortable for my very short coated dog to wear although the belly plate does seem to rub his chest hair off, we have never seen it blister or irritate his sensitive skin. I only deducted a star because he has finally grown out of it at 70lbs and starting to get tight with the straps fully let out, but they don't offer an Extra Large! I hope I can find another harness of the same security and quality that will fit him.

Love this harness overall!! Super well built, great material. You can tell how strong it is. The chest pad is super padded. The only thing is, if our dog was any bigger it wouldn’t fit! He’s also 72 pounds so slightly over the crash test weight. I wish they made an XL so more dogs could enjoy!! For reference we have a German shepherd / husky mix with a very wide rib cage and thick neck. Thankfully it fits him like a glove with the straps all the way extended. Little snug on his neck because that part doesn’t adjust. Love it!!!

Hard to review as I think (hope) this was an anomaly. Product arrived with rear buckles criss-crossed and already fastened- unfortunately they were apparently jammed solidly closed and my efforts to undo were unsuccessful. The buckles are a common type that require depressing on two sides , with thumb and forefinger, to release, and pull apart. I could not get either buckle to release, and twice pinched my thumb severely in my efforts. I tried wiggling the buckles, and even resorted to trying to depress the little blue logo on top , thinking maybe it was a release (like a seat belt). Nope. Went back to users' reviews to see if that has been a problem for others. Nope. So I don't know. On the plus side, the harness is very well made, and looks like it would function very well in safeguarding my dog. Also, if the buckles in question were easy to operate, then the harness would be easy to put on and remove. So I gave three stars, trying to be fair, not really knowing if I got a lemon, or what.

We bought a Med for our 29 lb pooch. On our first trip he nearly chewed through the neck because it was slack and is non adjustable.

Love this pet car harness. I got the large size for my 40lb Australian shepherd and it fits great. It’s brings me comfort for him to be secure on our road trips. I will say one of the buckles is a little harder to unclip but that’s my only complaint.

The harness seems sturdy and well made. I have two very differently configured dogs, and the non-adjusting neck straps seem to work fine for both. If your dog has a big/round head, size up likely. The clips are stiff and need precise side pressure to open--this in response to some comments about difficulty to close/open clasp. The chest portion of the harness differs in length significantly, so this might be the deciding factor if your dog is near the max or between sizes. A longer or more barrel chested doggie, size up, even if the chest circumference seems to work. That said, the adjusting chest straps save the day. See below. I ordered two of the same size harness for two 60 pound dogs. I instead received two different size products. It seems, based on the packaging, one was a used/returned product at a discount, in new condition and sized appropriately. The other, the apparently new item, did not have the label attached and was the incorrect size. The latter, a smaller size, is much shorter from neck strap to chest straps, and has shorter chest straps also. The length from neck strap to chest strap is the actual constraining fit/comfort issue and not the chest strap circumference. Thus my prior comments/caution. I can max the length of the chest straps to make this harness work, but the extra inch plus in chest pad length would have made all the difference. (I will add a photo later.)

We use this harness everyday and it is amazing. It keeps out dog safe and on the seat if it comes to sudden braking. He also likes the fact that the safety belt keeps him more stable.
