Timeless
David Wells has brought the ancient teachings of Reusi Dat Ton to new life! With the numerous photographs accompanied by clear instruction, this great art can be a therapeutic asset for anyone. As a practicing Thai Massage Therapist and Yoga Instructor, I've seen physical restriction adversely impact perception, intuition, and self confidence. But how to become more mobilized and pain free can be overwhelming when there are so many promised quick fixes out there. David has made systematically learning the tried and true ways of the ancients readily available. The history presented is rich, and the gentle massage and joint movement is rewarded by increased circulation, energy and vitality. There is a spiritual sense while embodying these movements, a form of communicating with ourselves Starting at the beginning, following step by step, the movements feel natural, like it was always supposed to be this way. Having been in David's class, his teachings have influenced my own work and personal practice for years, having this guide is priceless.

THE RDT GOLDMINE
This book on Reusi Dat Ton by David Wells is a true gem for the English speaking world. It covers the little known and researched, but very profound and ancient, form of yoga that migrated to - and was preserved in - Southeast Asia. David has spent years researching, studying, practicing, and teaching Reusi Dat Ton (RDT) all over the world. His in depth knowledge, experience, and love of the practice shines through. And the amount of support, encouragement, and involvement from the entire RDT community for this project is really touching to those in the know.I cannot recommend this book enough; not just to practitioners of yoga-āsana but to complete newbies, the elderly, and those with trauma or injury. If you think you know RDT, get this book. If you don't like the commercial yoga out there in the commercial world today, get this book. If you like commercial yoga and practice it, get this book. No matter your experience level, preexisting conceptions of and attitude towards yoga, body type, level of flexibility, etc. etc....get this book.I enthusiastically offer 5 stars!Thank you David for all you and your community have done to make this book happen. Congratulations!!!

Self Massage and Joint Mobilization book review
This should be in the library of anyone interested in maintaining a sound body and a sound mind. The book is clear and concise and structured in an appealing way. After a brief introduction and history of Thai yoga the reader will find oneself immersed in the multitude of poses Thai yoga offers, each pose clearly described in easy to follow instructions. The poses are accompanied by color photographs that clearly illustrate what the poses look like and how to get into the poses safely. All in all an excellent book that will take a prominent place on my book shelf as my go-to guide for personal health maintenance.

David Wells' techniques WORK.
I bought this book about 7 months after I started Yoga class where David Wells was the teacher. I'd never done any yoga before, but when I had a car accident (got rear ended by a truck doing 55mph) and was struggling with back issues (I've had back pain for 10 years) that the accident exacerbated. Dave taught the techniques included in this book every day. He never mentioned that he had a book. I found this book online while I was doing research. I have daily watched other students benefit and complete recovery using his techniques. Bottom line, my back problems were eased by his program. After each session, Dave assigns "homework" from the "Reusi Dat Ton". I had to pick a joint mobilization and a self massage to perform each night. This is not a miracle cure. It took time and dedication. But in the end, I find myself stronger and more flexible than I have been in 10 years. I was able to stop using pain medications after just a few months with Dave. If you are looking for tools to empower yourself on your journey to a better, stronger, and healthier back, then this book is for you. If you are a yoga teacher, your students need this book.

Review
Excellent collective of poses with benefit information. Could use more information in understanding for the beginner, like when to choose upward or downward sequences; things not known by a novice.

Traditional and Relevant
I can honestly say Ruesi Dat Ton has transformed my yoga practice, my body and my life. As a Thai Massage practitioner I find the self massage and range of motion exercises so beneficial & therapeutic, like giving myself a Thai Massage. I have a chronic low back injury and my work is very physical. These techniques have helped me maintain flexibility, strength, range of motion, as well as a sense of calm. David's thorough research, attention to detail and respect for traditional wisdom really come through in this text with a delightful intro & history and detailed, easy to follow illustrations for home practice. I find it fascinating how a little known, ancient practice can be so relevant and potent today. Thank you for sharing this work and helping to keep the knowledge alive.

This is the most completely accurate and complete book you will find on the subject of Reusi Dat Ton, that is written in the english language. It is a well structured, and beautifully illustrated guide to learning and practicing this method of self care that comes from Thailand. I 100% recommend this book!

Unique yoga that preceded the development of Thai massage
This unique yoga (reusi dat ton) is applicable to anyone in need of relief from pain, inflexibility and poor posture. It can be performed gently or vigorously depending on the individuals needs. Thai massage practitioners should all practice RDT. It is the root of our practice. It prepares our bodies for our work, as well as informs us about that which we are applying to our patients. Yoga asana practitioners who are curious about different styles of yoga will find reusi dat ton very unique and an alternative or complement to their present practice. Those who meditate may practice RDT in advance of sitting to prevent body distractions. Great job David Wells. Thank you for sharing your endless hours of research and study.
