Cute handclap games for kids!
This book brings me back to my childhood with all the handclap games and songs that go along. My daughter and her friends love using the book to learn new games. The one area I dislike would be the "comebacks" section where they teach kids how to make fun of each other. It is meant to be playful so older kids understand it but younger kids might not get it. Overall, happy with the purchase as we get a lot of use out of it.

Memories, memories
Just like I remember! The songs came flooding back to me like it was yesterday. That said, they aren't exactly polite and acceptable lyrically by today's standards. They contain many words that in our house we refer to as "unkind" words and phrases about breaking your mothers back etc that you don't really hear anymore and sound truly harsh on the ears nowadays. Still, my sweet 7 year old loves this book and thinks it is a hilarious relic of her Mommy's generation!

DISAPPOINTED
I was disappointed with the book. I grew up with rhymes while clapping and bouncing a ball and I only knew one of these in this book. So are the rhymes actually regional? I was hoping to help remember the rhymes I have forgotten so I could teach my children. Also, there is no description of what motions go with the rhymes. It leaves it up to the imagination of the child. Who knows how much folk knowledge we have lost. With the help of Kindles and cameras, we should be recording things our children do for their children. Make it your goal.

What a help
I have two 4 yr old girls with me a lot of the time. Now I can play the games that they are just finding out how to play. It also helps teach music tempo when we smack our hands and thighs. We laugh a lot with these words and actions.

Missing pages and parts of poems- editor mistake, not 'cause it was used
Pretty disappointing.I got this and some outdoor items to get my kids moving. Many of theses are fun, but I noticed that there must have been a computer issue because the one (really, the 1) rhyme I wanted my kids to see, is messed up. It's combined with at least 3 different rhymes and is the book's name sake. As if someone accidentally deleted other rhymes and it wasn't noticed by the editor before going to press. It kind of looks like a poem if you don't read it.I won't keep you all guessing- here's how the rhyme/poem actually goes:Miss Mary Mack Mack MackAll dressed in black black blackHad silver buttons buttons buttonsAll down her back back back. She asked her mother mother motherFor 50 cents cents centsTo see the elephants elephants elephantsJump over the fence fence fence. They jumped so high high highThey reached the sky sky skyAnd didn't come back back back'Till the 4th of July ly ly.Use while jumping rope or with hand claps, snaps and leg bumps.

brings back good old memories
I had this book as a kid and totally remember all of these games. So happy to pass down all these to my girls and see them treaching their friends. I couldn't believe all the girls in my neighborhood had never played hand clapping games

Not quite what I wanted. The name of the ...
Not quite what I wanted. The name of the book made me assume a lot of the rhymes would be well known, how ever the Miss Mary Mack rhyme and one other rhyme are the only ones I recognize...which makes it kind of difficult to teach my nieces, nephew, and grandchild the "action" /patty cake routines meant for specific rhymes or how to sing them.
