An excellent Microsoft 2 in 1 PC
I purchased this as a replacement to my broken Surface Go 1. Bear in mind that the keyboard and pen are not included - you will need to buy these separately. It came with windows 10 installed but it was very simple to upgrade to windows 11 although the download and installation took a while to complete. The other caveat is that there is no longer an SD expansion card slot on this device but you can upgrade the hard disc - there is a cover on the back you need to remove in order to gain access. There are 2 USB C thunderbolt 4 ports and a Surface connect power point on this device. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is also featured if you use wired headphones. I needed a tablet with a full blown operating system and this one is perfect for me. In my opinion the Apple Ipad pro has a better screen and although very desirable it is just a very big iphone!! The Surface Pro 8 is very fast and has a very good touch screen. I am not an avid gamer but it will run Skyrim and some other less demanding titles without any issues so far. So if you are in the Microsoft ecosystem then this PC would be a wise purchase although I use Apple devices as well. It is made from high quality aluminium alloy but is heavier and not as thin as the ipad Pro. The built in kickstand is a great feature and is very well engineered and folds seamlessly into the back. It also has a reassuring solid feel when carrying it around but I use a carrycase when on the move. I use windows hello face recognition and it is lightening fast even in low light. The sound quality from the built in speakers is good as well with a well defined bass. The Alcantara Signature keyboard and the pen which I also purchased as separate items are a must have if you want to use this PC as a laptop. Although this isn't the newest Surface Tablet it is more than adequate for my needs -

Fantastic product
Really impressed. I've long been a fan of the Surface Pro range, but could never justify the high cost. However my Surface Go doesn't support Windows 11, so I decided to sell it and put the money towards a Pro. I opted for the cheapest £999 model (£899 at the time of purchase in the Black Friday sale), which stretched my budget to the max - the higher end models are eye wateringly expensive, hence marking it down on value for money, although the build quality is very good. You get what you pay for I guess. The screen size and resolution are great, and with the reduced bezel size it looks fantastic. The downside to this though is that it is really heavy, made worse by the lack of anywhere to grip without touching the screen - my Surface Go had thumb sized bezels, so it looked a little dated, but it was much easier to hold. I'm sure its something I will get used to - I find it is much better if I change how I hold it, and cradle it in by left arm rather than holding it with just my fingers, I can use it in tablet mode much more comfortably. In laptop mode it is much more able to replace a laptop than my Go was due to the much larger screen and keyboard. The performance (so far) is flawless. I haven't tried playing games or editing video, or anything else particularly heavy duty, but with day to day tasks it doesn't miss a beat. Overall, very very happy with it.

Superb Display
This is my third Surface and it is by far the best. The display is really good... It is sharp and bright. As expected from the specification, performance is blistering. Battery life seems reasonable but I use this primarily as a connected desktop machine I already have a keyboard mouse and pen so I did not need to make these (costly) purchases. WiFi connectivity is good all around my house which is an older two-storey bungalow with solid stone walls. I also use it in the garden when it is not raining. Not unusual in my part of the West of Scotland. My older machines have been recycled to family members and are still going strong.

A good computer
The first Surface Pro sent developed a display fault after a few hours of running (an area of bright green pixels). I wouldn't mark it down because of that though. It's the sort of thing that can happen and I wouldn't think it more than a one-off problem. We spoke to a helpful Amazon representative and the computer was quickly replaced with another of the the same type. This one has been fine. Thanks for the good service.

Excellent laptop!
This is an excellent laptop. Very portable and the keyboard can easily be removed. Setting it up is straightforward and only take a few minutes. I can’t live without it now! The touch screen is very reactive and the stylus is great. The Apple pen might be slightly better though.

Its ok, that's all
Lets start on Battery life which is not great, screen has a dead pixel already. Should cone with keyboard and pen in my opinion so I don't think it's great value. Touch screen not as tactile as the ipad it replaced. In truth not mad about it.
