Golden Label Superior Light Soy Sauce, Plastic Bottles, 16.9 oz.

I first had this soy sauce over 30 years ago in France, when I found it in an Asian food store. It was so delicious that I could almost have drunk it. I didn't see it anywhere for over 30 years. But it was so good that I remembered it all this time, and I am very pleased to have finally found it again. It's as excellent as I recalled.

I’ve been cooking Chinese food, and using Pearl River Products, for ages, but this is the first time I’ve tried the Gold Label soy sauce. Glad I did, as it is better and more dynamic tasting than their regular light soy sauce. As with all Pearl River products, I hate the lids. They’re cheap and soy sauce gets all over the lip and lid cap.

Pearl river is one of the best, if not THE best soy sauce for Chinese cooking. They have a normal super light sauce which is good, but this golden label tastes even better. Pair it with the Pearl River Mushroom Dark Soy Sauce and your family will ask you how you got so good at cooking. Worth upgrading to this soy sauce.

You can get better soy sauce for more money, but for everyday use this is the best Chinese soy sauce. Nice rich flavor with malty fullness that will make your dishes shine.

Apparently you can get this for far less at a local Asian grocery store. However. This is a premium tasting soy sauce, gives my marinades and cooking an extra edge.

There is a prop 65 cancer warning for lead on this soy sauce. I was truly disgusted because I had splurged to purchase this soy sauce, was literally making fried rice and came to that step to add the soy sauce, only to lock eyes with a warning informing me that consuming the soy sauce is potential exposure to lead. I have a lot of choice, spicy language I will do my best to refrain from using. The listing should disclose this prop 65 warning and allow buyers to make informed decisions. This soy sauce cost far too much to have them withhold that critical bit of information that's right on the label.

Pearl River Bridge is my go-to brand for soy sauce. I keep both dark and light soy. There is a difference in flavor between the Golden light soy and the regular one but not a significant difference. Both are outstanding soys.In general, I cook with dark soy and drizzle with the light soy. The only ones I have found that compare to Pearl River Bridge are some of the Kikkoman soy sauces sold here that are different from those in that brand found in the grocery store.
