Clean Lines
Creates nice clean lines. Reason for the 4 star review is it did strip some of our stain off the woodwork.

Waste of money
Can't use on freshly painted surfaces. Rips the new paint off when removing. Painted trim a week ago. The trim was cleaned, dry, and free of dust and dirt before painting. Taped the trim to help keep color off. Painted the wall, removed the tape. You can see the result in the pic. Tape was on surface for no longer than an hour. Paid extra for name brand, disappointed in the result.

Quality Tape that gets the job done!
I am getting ready to paint the walls in my home, so I picked up Scotch blue tape. I want to make sure the paint does not get on the woodwork, doors, etc. The tape sticks as it should (it adheres without heavy pull of the paint adhesion). It is not a simple process to apply the tape. You do need to take your time and do it right. I even use an old plastic credit card to make sure it is down securely (do not want paint going underneath tape). The tape stays put during the project (does not come down halfway through it). I am very pleased with the quality and results. This is quality tape.

Love that this is wider!
As an artist, I have been using this name brand blue Scotch tape for nearly three decades. At any given time, I've had multiple rolls on hand, throughout the house. These rolls are not only excellent for wall painting, but they are also good for so much more. We use this tape to hang kids art work, holiday décor, reminder sticky notes and so much more. But if you're here to purchase this for blue masking for actual house painting, I still think you'll be very impressed. It's easy to apply. And easy to relift and lay down again. Plus it pulls up and comes off just as easily several days later as it did day one. Plus I love how much thicker this tape is than the previous Scotch rolls we've had before. It's more forgiving when it's thick like this. I have nothing but good things to say about this painter's tape. I highly recommend sticking with this name brand. The stress reduction alone is truly is worth a quarter or two per roll more over the generic brand!

Used to be the best
Used to be the best but this batch doesn't stick as well as the same brand I purchase years ago. Other than that depending on the surface it sticks well & comes off very easy even after weeks or months.

Best for Smooth Surfaces
I use the regular Scotch painters tape all the time. It works well, for general painting, and works great for keeping paint off the wall when you're painting the ceiling, or off the ceiling when you're painting the wall, and for keeping the paint off the floor when painting the base boards. This Sharp Lines version doesn't quite have the same easy application, and the directions for good results include cleaning the surface, applying the tape, and pressing down the tape with a smooth edge like a putty knife or credit card. This means by default, that it won't work as well on textured surfaces. And then, you need to wait 30-60 minutes before you start painting. Fail to follow these steps, and your results won't be optimal.I love the tape! It works well for its intended purpose, it works great, assuming that you have a relatively flat surface for the tape to adhere to, and you follow the directions.
