Really like the quality of the photographs from this small compact camera. The fixed focal length makes you think about composition but I think that is a good thing! Shoots in RAW and JPEG and so far really been impressed with the quality of the files. Camera has a huge range of settings and Im still getting to grips with them!

Fixed lens but large sensor so post editing and cropping will be needed. The resolution is rated in benchmarks tests better than the iPhone 17 Pro . Not too good at macro with the autofocus having trouble fixing on . Mainly a street camera not ideal for sweeping landscapes My only negative is the very short time you get with the battery . Don’t expect much more than 1 hour so you will need to get a charger ( not supplied ) and two spare batteries.

What is there left to say about this terrific little camera? Its absolute brilliant for street photography, its just so small and unobtrusive and the quality is brilliant whether you shoot JPEGS or RAW. I print up to A3 with no issues. Image stabilisation works well which makes showing in low light an absolute breeze. The only downside is the well known issue of battery life, the solution is simple buy a couple of generic batteries and you're good to go for a days shooting.

Always loved the Ricoh GR series. Shooting with it since the analogue GR1, and had almost all the digital ones afterwards. This fits even better for me with 40mm equivalent lens rather than the traditional (for the GR series) 28mm. It's simply amazing, fits in your pocket and has an AMAZING picture quality. Goes unnoticed for street photography. A great tool. Could be better? A couple of things, dust is a pain, it should be weather-sealed, but I understand it's difficult to implement. I don't miss the flash, but someone might.

Ordered as new and received a previously used and returned camera. How did I know? The mysteriously crushed warranty leaflet, unwrapped accessories, a shutter count of 198 and the fact it came already paired to an iPhone 15 which I do not own. **Update- ordered a replacement and what do you know! This one intitially looked promising but had clearly been dropped as well as having been used to take around 200 pics. Apparently this doesn’t meet community guidelines as it’s not about the product to which I will say it’s a lovely camera and I am going to purchase it.

Edit 2024: I've had my original GRiii for 3 years now, it has 9000 shots under its belt, and it is battered -- scratched up, with a significantly dusty sensor, a broken front cover and a temperamental control wheel. It just about works, the pictures are still superb, but it has no resale value. However, I thought I would give this a try because I prefer a 40mm focal length and just like the previous version, the picture quality is superb, and the pocketable size is incredible - but you have to treat it with care! The downside is that a lens cap, skin, protective cover and maybe a stick-on filter are all essential in my opinion. If you cannot do this, then you'll be risking a very expensive liability. The utterly amazing image quality is let down by it not being a strong camera, especially around the retractable lens cover; dust can get on the sensor, and it isn't weather sealed. Even with a filter the lens is vulnerable, and because this is pocketable, you do need to take extra care that you have a clean pocket. When I made the original purchase, I opted to return it -- but a year later and I've bought it again. In my opinion, the good outweighs the bad.

Love the IIIx . I have the GR (my favorite), a GR III and the IIIx now. I use the 3 of them. I have 2 issues with the III and IIIx . The 1st is battery life which is ridiculously low and the ridiculously high price for a spare battery. My second grip is autofocus. The GR had 2 select focus areas: large and small. The III & IIIx only a small select area. The auto area is focusing all over the place and you end up with out of focus photos. You can always tap the screen area or the point where you want to focus, but you need then both hands which shouldn't be the purpose of this camera. It's a one hand fast shooter used mostly for street photography

I love that the compact build and intuitive ergonomics make it a joy to use, while the fixed lens challenges you to think creatively and engage with your surroundings. It’s a minimalist’s dream and an inspiring tool for photographers who value simplicity and deliberate shooting.

Avoir un Ricoh GR III dans la poche, c’est refuser que la meilleure photo soit celle qu’on n’a pas prise! Le GR III incarne exactement cet esprit : pas de sac à ouvrir, il tient dans la poche, pas d’hésitation il est à portée de main, et pas de “j’aurais dû prendre mon appareil” L'appareil photo parfait n'existe pas, le Ricoh GR III n’est malheureusement pas tropicalisé. Il faut donc faire attention à la pluie, à l’humidité et à la poussière. Ce n’est clairement pas un appareil à sortir sans réfléchir par mauvais temps, et c’est à prendre en compte si vous photographiez souvent en extérieur dans des conditions difficiles. C'est pour moi son seul vrai point à améliorer. En effet, on parle souvent de l'autonomie réduite, forcément vu la compacité c'est logique, c'est solutionné par un investissement d'une trentaine d'euros supplémentaires dans 2 batteries et chargeur. Pas de viseur, pas d'écran orientable ok. Sur le plan de l’image, le Ricoh GR III étonne vraiment pour un appareil de cette taille grâce à un capteur APS-C de haute qualité. Ce capteur est nettement plus grand que ce que l’on trouve dans la plupart des compacts, ce qui se traduit par une excellente dynamique, des couleurs naturelles et une maîtrise du bruit cohérente jusqu'à 6800iso. Sur la variante GR III X, Ricoh propose une optique optimisée autour d’une équivalence 40 mm, rapprochant au maximum de la vision de l'œil et donnant une perspective souvent considérée comme plus “classique”. Je l'utilise énormément pour photographier mes enfants en vacances, en sortie. Bref, c'est l'appareil qui me réconcilie avec la photographie, et qui met au repos mon Samsung S23 ultra (excellent mais sans âme). Il ne remplacera pas mon Lumix S5 II pour d'autres projets photos et vidéos, il ne remplacera pas une dji Osmo Pocket 3 pour les vlog vacances en famille, mais il sera l'allier parfait pour la photographie qualitative. Si votre priorité est de faire des photos régulièrement, sans contrainte, avec une vraie qualité d’image, le GR III / GR IIIx est un excellent choix. Conseil : pensez à acheter un bouchon de protection de l'objectif une fois rangé dans la poche!

This camera is really impressive for it's size, the image quality is sharp, the raw files offer a ton of flexibility to work with. The size is great, you can just put it in your pocket and take it everywhere with you. cons are video quality is average(which is expected), small battery (wich is also expected) and it doesn't have great bokeh when shooting portraits,.
