Impact Screw Driver almost lasted 5 years....
Great combo... use it often and neither the drill or impact screw driver are babied. They get rough use. The Drill is still going like new. compact and powerful. The Impact screw driver worked great until I REALLY abused it by using it to drive 6" long lag bolts into concrete... a lot of them! It really isn't designed for this type of heavy work. It did drive them all, but a couple of months later it decided not to work. Probably a minor fix but I will buy another one, fix this one and then use both. ;

Fine product, but need to charge battery pack upon receipt or eventually, it may not hold a charge.
The drill and impact wrench are well-designed and perform well. But it is vital to know the battery pack MUST be charged within a certain time frame after receipt. I you don't, the pack may not accept a charge. I found this out after letting the pack sit for 43 months after purchase because I had others. It would not accept a charge. I commend Black & Decker (Stanley) for standing behind their product in still sending me a free replacement pack after all this time. The box itself, and the user manual, need to prominently (BIG LETTERS!) warn the consumer to charge the battery pack within (?) of receipt or it will not accept a charge. Also, the use of international symbols instead of wording beside the charger's status LEDs can baffle. Although the import of the green constant lit (charged) and green blinking (charging) LEDs are explained in the manual, the red blinking (unchargeable, bad pack) and constant red LED (overheated pack) ARE NOT. Need to add admonition and explanations for red LED light to manual copy.

Great value, and excellent compatibility with other Black+Decker tools.
This combo set is a good deal for the price. The 1.5AH battery should last a very long time, and replacements are easily found. The whole Black+Decker 20V line of tools use the same batteries and chargers, which makes it VERY easy to continue to buy from the same manufacturer. As far as the drill motor, it is light weight, fast, and has enough power to drill through anything. With the 1.5AH battery installed, the balance and weight are both perfect for light work around the house. The casing is plastic, but the parts you touch when holding it is rubberized. There is a Philips and flat-head drill bit that snaps into the back of the handle. For the impact driver, it is about the same weight and dimensions as the drill motor. The chuck has a locking mechanism that holds the bits in place. This is very important when you are using it to back out tough fasteners. The LED is a weak point, as it is barely bright enough to light the work area in a dark room. In sunlight, it's useless, but you probably wouldn't need it anyways if it was that bright. Overall, this is a great addition to the garage. I tend to abuse my tools, and so far Black+Decker tools have been VERY durable and resilient.

Work Horse
I’m amazed by this tool. I bought one years ago, and I have beaten the crap out of it more times than I can count. And it just keeps on working. It’s not a very expensive tool. There are many more expensive ones on the market. But this one really does the job. I’ve rarely run it out of juice in a day, and I’ve used it to hang drywall for entire days. Couple of weeks ago, I was using it to fix some deck boards and it quit. Dead. Never gave it a second thought. Got online, (they still make the same one), ordered a replacement. This set looked like a good deal. Came with the drill, an impact drill, (good for tapcons) and a battery. My battery from the old drill still works and is the same, so now I got two tools and two batteries! If this one lasts half as long as my original it will be worth it.

Best cordless drill/driver combo for the price
First let's look at the impact driver. It works great! I had some deck screws that were drilled in by a corded drill and some were pretty stripped out. I was worried that this wouldn't be able to take the screws out. I was wrong. All 48 screws came out. And I reused all of them with success. I put the screws into something else and the impact driver did its job well. The drill is very petite. Almost embarrassing to use in public because it's so tiny and looks like a toy. But it works! I used a half inch drill bit to drill through some 1/8" aluminum and it worked well. The small drill actually worked to my benefit because I couldn't fit my craftsman drill in the spot. I haven't used the drill much. I just bought a matrix drill too and I mainly use that. For the price this is an awesome combo set. I got this for under 70 from amazon with some coupon code they gave me at checkout. This only comes with one battery and I wanted extra. I went to eBay and bought some knockoff brand batteries that actually are rated to last longer than the factory battery and they work great and was under $40 for two batteries. Battieries are hardly ever that cheap. I don't really have any complaints other than the size of the drill. I also have the matrix which works good also. You can buy an impact attatchment for that so think of that option too.
