Bandai Macross 1/72 VF-1S Valkyrie Roy Focker Variable Fighter Model Kit

This is an amazing kit. Its new-master grade class-like (full inner frame and great details-engineering) and the proportions are spot-on.Having this thing able to transform is a dream come true for me. I really like to make something myself, and even though I wont transform it more than 2 or 3 times, just knowing that I built something that DOES transform...its amazing.You will have to paint the little Roy Focker but he does come with his full body. Panel lining the rest of the plane will also make it look just like the box art. Highly recommended.For the undecided: this is a model kit. Its not a toy .However, its fully transformable and looks amazing. It also wont sell for $400 like the Yamato-Arcadia toys so...just buy it!

Assemble will take time, but the model looks incredibly detailed.- I received the kit without pilot figurine, but I've contacted the customer support and are on our way to a solution.-

The VF-1S (Fokker) Valkyrie kit is a magnificent piece of engineering. Able to transform from Fighter to GERWALK to Battroid without part swapping, this bird is an impressive kit. It's got all the little details you've come to expect from a Macross model, like panel lines, landing gears, tiny little decals of the pilot's names. Basically it's everything you'd expect from Hasegawa, but built by the folks who make Gundam.Unlike a Gundam kit, which is typically designed with serious thought given to durability and stability, this Macross model is delicate and dainty. Also unlike most Gundam kits, it transforms. Sure there are a few Gunpla here and there with the conversion process of a Go-Bot, but this Valkyrie is so completely beyond that it's like comparing a Go-Bot to a modern Transformer.Bandai was totally unprepared to make the transition. They designed a jet that turns into a robot and then breaks.Seriously, it broke while I was panel lining. (Tail/Backpack to fuselage joint)Bandai includes sticker and water-slide decals in a generous move which will break your plane again (left landing gear doors)I picked it up to change the angle before snapping a photo, and a part fell off. (Right 'foot'/ thruster piece)Anyone attempting to transform this kit more than twice should understand it will break apart into four easily recognizable chunks, none of which seem to go back together right again. It's exceptionally fragile, so pick the mode that you think looks best (GERWALK, btw) and put it on a display stand for the rest of time. Don't even dust it, something will break.

This model is easier to put together than my last on from the 15th anaversry.

This review is not on the part of the seller. The product arrived on time and in excellent condition.OVERVIEW: This is the most tempermental model kit in existence. The figure looks fantastic, but the pieces are so unbelivably tiny that they barely hold together. I was extremely careful to cut the pieces out using an exact-o blade and some of the ones vital to transforming the kit into it's other modes broke regardless. After many many applications of super glue, they were strong enough to hold together to be completed.But then, as you begin trying to transform it into it's other modes, parts would easily fall off and go flying or simply no longer hold together. The reason for this is because a lot of the vital parts rely on a VERY tiny snap-in hinge that can only be pushed together with some force. Doing so however, I believe dulls the small nubs that go into the hinge which then weakens it's grip, which is why so many pieces are either perpetually swinging open or falling off instead of staying tight.Then there is the matter of transforming it. The model requires very precise, specific motions or the entire transofrmation process is ruined or parts will not slide into place as they are intended. You can literally not make any mistakes or you run the risk of damaging this already extremely frail and sensitive model, or pushing parts out of place and then struggling to get them back where they belong.LIST OF TROUBLESOME PARTS:Hands: the hands do not come out of the arm compartment very easily. I had to use a pin and other small implements to pull them out, which led to the fingers getting caught on the inside of the compartment and breaking off.Fingers: Extremely hard to put together. The fingers rely on pressure to stay in place and you must put both the index finger and other fingers in at the same time. The problem is that there is no way to put in one, and then the other. Both must be inserted simultaneously or they will fall out. And they are already bent in such a way that getting a grip on them is hard. As you apply pressue, your fingers will often slip and you will be pushing them the wrong way or not at all.Wings: The wings rely on a small track that allows them to slide as you swing them downwards for Battleoid-mode. However, they often would pop out of this track as there is only one piece that is holding them in place, which very easily loosens up. During normal use, not even touching the wings, they would come out of the track and fall if you held the model the wrong way.Leg Joint: The leg joints are extremely tight and need to fit into a very small socket. It wasnt until I re-read the instructions 8 times I noticed they wanted me to take out a piece of plastic that was part of the nose of the plane. Up till now, the transformation did not require removal of any of the parts and could transform between all 3 modes freely. Anything that seemingly got in the way could be tucked away or was later attached to something else and moved out of the way. Even after getting them into the right place, one of them would not stick. It kept poking out slightly and the door that closes to latch the legs into place would not stay shut. Not until after I fiddled with it for upwards of 15 minutes was I able to finally get it to fit PRECISELY how it wanted, and only then it held in place because I applied a great deal of pressure for a few minutes, probably molding the plastic to the port it was stuck in.Leg Piston: There are 2 pistons on either side that control how the legs swing down from plane mode into battloid mode. This is the part I mentioned above that broke just trying to use it. It requires that it gets snapped into a hinge but kept breaking as I did so. The plastic was not hard enough to hold in place and would snap or tear apart if you bent it too much.Thruster Flap: There is a small flap that is intended to cover up 3 small thrusters on the plane's belly. This part has not and will not stay in place. It is constantly popping out of place. Which sucks because you need to bend it to transform the model at some point. It swings open constantly and when you bend it to push it closed, if you so much as bend it too far by a micron, it will fall out of it's snap-in hinge.Cockpit shield: There is a black shield that is supposed to slide forward over the cockpit. It is not held in it's track very tightly. In face it is extremely loose. You insert it from the back of the track to forward. It constantly slides backwards out of it's track or pops out of the track if too much pressure is applied in any superfluous region of the model, such as holding it in your hands wrong.FINAL THOUGHTS: Do not buy this model. Even if you are an expert model builder, this model is so frail and hard to hold together that you may as well not waste your money. You have to be a professional or something and have luck on your side that the parts you need to not break, whittle down, and most of all, hold together. This is NOT a durable model kit. You cannot be at all rough with it. You cannot deviate from the instructions at all. You cannot LOOK at this kit funny, or the parts will spontaneously fly out of place.If you want this kit to hold together at all, you have to pretty much super glue everything into place. Unfortunately, this means more or less ruining it's ability to transform. If I wanted a FIGURE of a Veritech in battloid mode, I would have bought one. I wanted a model that could successfully transform into all 3 modes. While this is TECHNICALLY possible, it isnt REALLY possible without you screaming several times and essentially re-building the model over and over again as the parts come out of place or break.Save your money. Buy a figure. That will be my next purchase since this kit has turned me off to Veritech models completely. I am not even going to bother trying to put the decals on it or paint it. The ability to transform it between all 3 modes is not worth the frustration, blisters, and broken parts.

El producto me encanta. Inicialmente me senti decepcionado, porque pense que el mismo venia ensamblado, como se muestra en la figura. Pero, como a mi tambien me encantan las maquetas a escala de aviones, me gusto mucho mas, porque es mas que una maqueta, es una maqueta transformable (con mucho cuidado, claro).Creo seria conveniente agregen una imagen donde se vean las planchas con las piezas, para aquel bruto, como yo, que no presta atencion a la descripcion o comentarios, no se lleve una sorpresa para mal (en mi caso fue para bien).Respecto del envio, llego sumamente rapido (a los 6 dias de comprarlo) increible.Ademas el vendedor tuvo el detalle de enviarme una nota agradeciendo la compra y unas estrellas ninja, lo que creo un lindo detalle para acompanar la increible valkiria.Hay videos en youtube que muestran como armarlo y el nivel (asomobroso) de ingenieria con el cual pensaron y diseniaron la maqueta (increible el nivel de detalle!!).

Kit molto bello, plastica un po' spessa ma ben dettagliata, cosi' come e' dettagliato il modello: e' trasformabile ! Inoltre si hanno a disposizionesia le decal che gli adesivi a seconda di cosa preferite.Pienamente sodddisfatto
