Doesn't deserve all the hate
TL;DR - Infinite Warfare is very familiar and has little innovation over Black Ops 3, but nonetheless I find it enjoyable, which is exactly what video games are supposed to be. If you have already played or disliked recent installments in the COD series or other futuristic games like Halo or Titanfall, then there might not be much for you in Infinite Warfare. However, just because it's similar to the aforementioned games doesn't automatically mean that the quality of the game itself is bad. Also, Modern Warfare Remastered is incredible and everything I could have wished for. Long version: I've played every COD game since COD 3, excluding Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, so I've had a pretty good taste of Call of Duty's take on WWII, the Cold War, modern warfare, and future warfare. I didn't buy all those games because I'm a fanboy who stops at nothing to defend the series, but simply because I liked them. The Modern Warfare series has always been my favorite, with Black Ops a close second. I didn't buy Ghosts or AW because when they came out, I was starting to get involved/catch up in some other game series (namely Battlefield and Assassin's Creed) and needed a break from COD. When Black Ops III came out, I jumped back on the train -- mostly for the zombies. Nobody does zombies like Treyarch. BO3 was a lot different from the last COD game I played (BO2), but since the Dead Space games were really the only other futuristic games I had played, I thought it was a nice change. I seem to remember lots of people complaining back when MW3 came out, griping about how COD games were just the same old thing over and over, and that the series needed to change. Well, the series did change. And now, here we are, everyone goes back to complaining about COD games being same old thing over and over, but this time they say that the series needs to go back to what it used to be. So what's a developer to do? If you keep the setting the same, people get tired of it and want a new one. If you change the setting, people want to go back to the old one. I don't waste my time railing against a developer if I'm not interested in their games; I just don't buy from them. When Infinite Warfare was announced, I wasn't terribly interested and accordingly I didn't plan on buying it. But when the beta came out, I figured it'd be worth a shot, since it had been 5 years since I last played an Infiniti Ward game. Well, turns out I liked the beta, so decided I would probably buy the game. And also, let me make this abundantly clear: I DO NOT like the fact that you can't get MWR separate from IW. In fact I think it's stupid and greedy on Activision's part. They'd do much better financially and reputation wise if they just separated the games, and I'm not mindless enough to throw $80 at them just because I want a remastered game. As such, MWR was not the sole factor (though it was an important one) in my decision to buy IW, and it's also worth mentioning that I bought it on Black Friday for $23 off. I wouldn't have dumped even $57 on a game that I would never play just so I could have MWR. I bought it because I genuinely wanted both games. So, what about the game itself? It's pretty much Black Ops 3 with (sort of) new weapons, new specialists, new maps, and Infiniti Ward graphics/physics. If the quality of a game hinges on originality alone, then sure. IW sucks. But if it hinges on how the game works and what its contents are, I really don't see how IW that bad. It looks good, it plays smoothly, and it's pretty much what you'd expect from a COD game as far as map size and the flow of multiplayer. If you like that sort of fast paced, claustrophobic combat set in the future, then get it. If you don't and prefer wide open maps and more tactical combat, then get Battlefield 1 (which, by the way, I have also purchased). I've had no problems with IW that aren't common to all multiplayer games. I gave it 5 stars because I think the game is fun, and games are supposed to be fun. Different people have different ideas of what is and isn't fun. Obviously, not everyone finds this game fun, which is fine. But sure seems like a lot of people knew they would hate the game, yet they got it anyway and played it for 5 minutes just to write a review about how terrible it is without giving any reason other than "I don't like it". I'm not saying that fanbases shouldn't be giving feedback to developers. I'm just saying that there are more intelligent ways to do it than just calling a series trash and boasting, "I'm never going to buy a Call of Duty game again." Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Modern Warfare Remastered. It really is fantastic. The graphics are about as good as they can get, and even though it's been many years, it still feels like yesterday when I last played through the missions and maps. How much money you consider to be worth spending on a remastered game is your choice, but whatever you spend, you'll be getting a beautifully and faithfully redone classic.

Going to play this one for a while
I've enjoyed Call of Duty for many years now. I've gone max prestige on several including Advanced Warfare where I got to Grand Master Prestige. Weirdly though, while a lot of gamers seem to get so excited about Black Ops, I've always hated them and have never played them extensively. For me I've been pretty impressed with Infinite Warfare; the graphics are amazing. There is a fluidity of movement that is pretty spectacular. I don't think the maps are great and do seem fairly restrictive, however, there will be many more maps to come, and we'll see how that goes. It seems like they are working on balancing some of the weapons, fixing bugs, and making some good improvements to the game with their many massive patches they are putting out. So I think those who tried the original release for 30 minutes and wrote the whole thing off are being a bit unnecessarily harsh. Unlike many people I found the movement in Advanced Warfare with its jumping just fine. And I have grown to like the different jumping and wall running of Infinite Warfare. Takes a bit of getting used to, but pretty cool once you do. Some people object to the future setting, and if that's you, and you want to simulate actually fighting in a war without all that pesky being killed, maimed, deafened, capture, torture, PTSD, and then being long term unemployed and abandoned by the very government that sent you to war, then this game is certainly not for you. There are far more realistic playing a soldier game out there you should be looking at. As for a first person shooter, I still like it. I like that there are so many weapons you can unlock and rank up. I like that there are six different styles of soldier you can use, each with unique characteristics, traits and skills. I like that there are four different teams you can join, that come with unique challenges and rewards. As is so often the case, Infinite Warfare expects you to buy the game at the typical retail price. Then they try and entice you to buy a more expensive version of the game with some extra add ons. Then they want you to buy a subscription to get new maps. Then they offer you in game purchases on top of that. I'm not sure why it is that modern game manufacturers think we are willing to spend a few hundred bucks on playing a single game. I think it is a disturbing trend and nothing but a money grab. But hey, seems like that's how it is going with all of them. I guess someone has to pay the outrageous development costs of these modern games. All in all there is a lot to like about this game, I think the main engine is pretty impressive. And I think that as they continue to put out new weapons and maps, there is plenty here to keep a first person shooter fan occupied for many days of game play. I also think that some of the one star reviews and whining by some gamers is criticism far beyond what the game deserves. I tend to play one shooter for quite a while, and I really expect to continue to grow and improve over the next few months. They have some genuinely good ideas in this game, and great movement and setup. So with more maps and weapons to come. Perhaps some more old-school maps brought back but much enhanced like Terminal that they just put out, I think this game has some legs, and I'm going to keep playing. But if you are a hard core ultra realistic non-futuristic shooter fan, you think Black Ops or Ghost is the bomb, and you hate sci-fi in all forms, then this one might be a solid miss for you.

Well... I Liked It.
I am very confused about the hate this game is garnering, so that's compelled me to write a review and give my perspective. About my CoD history: Loved MW1, loved MW2, never finished MW3, and I swear I'll get back to Ghosts someday. I've rented other CoD titles over the years but they've never really grabbed me. When I saw the much maligned Youtube trailer for this game I was intrigued and let's be honest the remaster of MW1 is what really sealed the deal on this one for me. Campaign: I'm one of those strange people that actually wants a fully fleshed out campaign in my first person shooters and for the most part this one delivers. It's nothing groundbreaking but the narrative is solid, the worldbuilding is done very well making this future-earth feel very real and fleshed out. After the first act missions the game shifts to a Mass Effect-esque mission structure that I really enjoyed, main story missions interspersed with interesting side missions, and maybe its just because my expectations have been set so low by the abysmal No Man's Sky earlier this year but the Jackal flight sim missions were fun and competently done. Multiplayer: I'm no expert at CoD multiplayer, I'm a serious casual, but I've had fun with it. It's CoD multiplayer... not really sure what there is to say here, if you don't know what CoD's multiplayer is like then maybe this isn't even a game you should be considering? Zombies: I'm a sucker for anything with an over the top 80's aesthetic and the zombie mode in this game nails that to a 'T'. I've had a little trouble with the matchmaking in this mode but the times I've gotten teams together I've had a blast with it. Overall... I dunno guys, its a video game and its fun. In a year with a lot of disappointing releases I really felt like I got the most bang for my buck with game.

This game is like your first serious relationship
This game is like your first serious relationship. You think that it's true love, that it's "the one," and that it will never end. Over time, things slowly change. A new haircut, new clothes, new group of friends, etc. The changes are slow, incremental. Each change is only slight enough that you notice it, but the familiarity is still there. You have your fights, things are said, mistakes are made (Ghosts), but you are committed and you stick with it. Then, one day, you're in the middle of your routine and you realize that the relationship is over. Your significant other has changed so much that they are unrecognizable. That's what's happened here. COD slowly lost the plot through previous years. They've kept all the weird changes and updates from old editions, just layering them on top of each other. This is so far from the fundamentals that made it great that I would not have been able to recognize it as a COD title but for "CALL OF DUTY" being slapped on the cover. You can make your own class, but then you have mech armor/suits layered on top of that. There are some strange choices in the tactical grenade menu. They've kept that weapon/item that charges throughout the round. Then my personal pet peeve, the jumping/jet pack and wall running, is still in the game. They have now completed the transition from a solid, fundamental FPS to the dudebro, Dorito and Mountain Dew choice of 12 year olds everywhere. This is ADHD in video game form. The only redeeming quality about this game is the Legacy Edition came with one of the best COD titles and multiplayer ability. Even then, Activision won't let me sell off the IW disc if I still want to play MW. I guess I will have to come to terms with the fact that I paid $70.00 for a remastered Modern Warfare and got a cheap Halo knockoff included. The remastered Modern Warfare is the only reason why I can give this a star (and the fact that Amazon does not allow a zero star review).

just super late in the afternoon
I was excited to get my game and play it the day it came out. It came on the right day, just super late in the afternoon. Inside is a disk with infinite warfare of course, and a paper with a code for modern warfare remastered. Both games took about a total of 4 hours for me to download. Infinte warfare not being as bad as modern warfare remastered with the download. I honestly had to let modern warfare remastered download overnight while i slept. But lets talk more of the gameplay Infinte warfare is fast paced in multiplayer and zombies. The multiplayer can be really intense and at first i didn't like it much because playing terminal (which is also on a sheet of paper for you to download in the case like modern warfare) which everyone was playing led to me dying almost nonstop. I took a break from it to play modern warfare and came back loving it more. 8.5/10 infinte warfare multiplayer Modern warfare remastered has been an amazing experience to me. Me being someone who hasn't gotten into cod until black ops. I was highly excited to play Modern warfare and hear from everyone that it is almost an exact copy of the original. Playing the multiplayer is so fun, leaving me to put hours into it without noticing. Its addicting and a good way to give yourself a break from the fast paced jet packing around and all of infinte warfare. I like the slow pace of it, but it can also be very fast paced at moments to. 10/10 for Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer Infinte warfare zombies is the last (i dont really care for any of the story modes). The zombies mode is a load of fun. The map is huge and it'll take you some time to get used to the feel of it but the creators did a fantastic job with it. The characters in zonbies are entertaining. The layout of the map is well planned. The zombies and gameplay is challenging and without a solid team even more challenging. Let it also be known that the graphics are beautiful! Zombies in spaceland for infinite warfare 10/10 As a whole, this product is very worth it. 2 games for this price isn't so bad when you think of it. You can do like i do. Play infinite warfare and when it gets boring or annoying, switch to zonbies. Play a match or two of zonbies and when your all zombied out, switch over to modern warfare remastered which is significantly more chill in gameplay than infinite warfare. Overall this is a solid purchase, i recommened to anyone looking to buy it ^_^. Happy i preordered it and for it to be my first pre ordered game on amazon, it was an excellent experience. Hope this review helped!

Infinite Warfare Campaign is one of the best modern COD campaigns I have played
Mulitple parts to this review. Infinite Warfare Campaign is one of the best modern COD campaigns I have played. The story is engaging and I cared about these characters. The way you select your missions is great, and the addition of side missions was nice too! I do wish it had lasted a little longer, but it is about par for COD titles. Infinite Warfare MP is garbage! Pure trash! To be clear, I loved Black Ops 3 MP, absolutely loved it! They cut and paste the movement mechanics from BOPS3 into this game and then added bland colorless maps with weapons that are severely out of balance! The addition of mission teams has only further added to the convoluted mess that is IW MP. This is the reason for 4 stars, I would give it 3 starts expect for the next two things. Modern Warfare Remastered Campaign is by and large one of the best campaigns on any game I have ever played! I did not play it when it originally came out in 2007 at the time I was not into gaming. The characters are fleshed out, the story is engaging and there were numerous points in the story where I almost got emotional over the events unfolding. Stellar job on this campaign, and the remastered graphics are gorgeous! MWR MP is one of the best MP experiences I have every played, it still pales in comparison to BOPS3 for me. But, it is none the less amazing! The guns are well balanced for the most part, the maps are great, although I do wish we would get some more new ones, and the lack of customization is great! Adding supply drops, which we will just have to get used too from now on, I think took away some from the game. Overall a great experience. If we had not been given MWR this year with IW i wouldnt be playing COD at all right now. A return too boots on the ground is a must with this next game! I hope they start to sale MWR by itself soon so that people that dont have to buy another game they wont play just to get it. However if you enjoy campaigns and can catch this bundle on sale for $40 or less I think it is work the money!
