Q: Do they scare ground squirrels and gophers away.

So far, all they’ve been good for is garden decoration. Ground squirrels, gophers, hares, and rats...all they do is see them and laugh.

Q: can you fill them with water or do they leak if you do?

I filled these with dirt, so I don't know if water would work.

Q: I bought 4 of then. My question is will they work even if I do not place them on my roof?

Pair of bluebirds were attacking my house windows, but worst was their going after the side windows and mirrors on my new 2022 vehicle! Not only would they leave their poop dripping down both sides of my new vehicle (looked like a zebra!) they also "danced" down the sides smearing it on my side windows and windows with their wings!!! Tried covering mirrors, putting reflective streamers and bought a car cover and put it on every day, what a pain. Someone suggested I try some owl decoys. Put these two on a couple tall veggie stakes. One at head of driveway one on side. They haven't been near my vehicle since!! The did continue attacking the back house windows, but never the suv or front windows; I was amazed, such an easy fix.

Q: How big is the hole in the bottom?

It’s not that big similar to a piggy bank opening.
