Finally!!! If you are looking for a genuine "Newspaper Boy's Cap," look no further! This gender-neutral hat does exactly what it is designed to do, and that is "Slouch!"During the 1920's-30's and 40's newspapers and radio news broadcasts were the only source of news. (Certainly during those years "Worrisome News" seemed the "main fare!"). As the men and women cascaded down busy intersections during the morning rush, hoping to beat their bosses to work, they would hear the cracking voices of the young newspaper boys, each challenging the passers-by to stop issuing the call, "Read all about it! Churchill Remains Defiant During London Blitz!" Each of these boys wore caps that had eight panels that met at the crown, being held by a button. With the large beret slouched completely forward so as to nearly cover their hats' beaks, or slid to the side nearly touching either ear, or pitched toward the back, the cap's beak pointing toward the clouds, these newspaper boys proudly introduced themselves without saying a word to those chilled hands that offered a coin in exchange for the news of the day. The boys' cries never ceased. But they were known as being "cocksure," "jaunty", "a swell kid" (!) and "determined! Prob'ly supportin' his fam'ly!" -- all as determined by the unique manner of each boy's "slouch" and how he broke-in the beak (brim) of his cap.There was a day -- not too long distant -- when hat sizes handily matched our shoe sizes. (How? I've no idea, save to say it worked!) I am 5'5" in height and weigh 110 lbs. I am a gal who has loved hats all of her life. Shoe size? Seven. Hat size? Seven. The newspaper boy's hat that you have just found is advertised as being for men; it is not. Ladies -- have at it! I ordered a medium; the fit is perfect, and your look -- as you choose to design it -- will be compelling! Gentlemen? This hat is as unique as are you, so let your "inner kid" come out long enough to play with the "slouch" and the "beak" ... er... "brim." Give us some attitude! This newsboy cap fits well. I normaly wear a 7,1/4 size. The hat fits well and would probably fit someone with a 7,3/8 equally well. The advertisement states 'wool blend' for plaid hats and 100 per cent wool for solids. My hat is a plaid pattern and is marked "100 % wool" inside ! And it feels to be 100% wool too ! The hat is well made with a lining through out. It seems to have padding inside the lining. This hat easily compares with an Irish made hat sells for fifty dollars or more. I highly recommend it !

As for fit, finish, and general quality, this hat is exactly what I had expected and hoped-for. For the price -- especially in comparison to similar hats from the British isles -- this is a great value. (Seams are straight, even and tight; a size "L" fits my (US 7-1/4) head perfectly, with just a little slack.) It also has "just enough" material above the crown that it does not look sloppy but may be shifted to one side or another, a bit like a beret and allowing me to personalize the wear.)The color, however, came as a bit of a negative surprise. I bought a dark gray herringbone tweed pattern, and I thought (from the description and photos) that it was still light enough in color that the pattern could actually be seen from a few feet away.Not true. If you're any farther than 6" away from it, this cap looks like it is a uniform "very dark gray to black" color and the tweed pattern is not visible at all.I am going to keep this hat; and I am probably going to wear it fairly frequently -- especially as fall and winter progress; it is 100% wool and has a nice, quilted lining. But if I want the exact color and appearance that I thought/hoped I was purchasing, I guess I'll have to find another hat!

This is my second Epoch hat. I suspect that it will not be my last. There was nothing wrong with the first one, I just wanted a second one in brown (first is gray). This hat feels well made. It fits as expected. I am a 7 5/8 and the XL fits perfectly. Stitching is well done, and the liner is a lightly quilted satin. All in all, quite a bargain. Mine was just under $18. Which is a small price to pay to look like a million bucks...

I love this hat. I wish I could get one in every color. I also gifted the hat to my father and husband. Both men absolutely loved them and looked great.

Just what I'd hoped for. This is my second such Epoch hat in another color. Both are my go-too caps for cooler days. Worth more than their price. A year or so ago, I bought another brand of a brown herringbone newsboy cap that coincidentally was constructed of the same identical nice fabric, but it was sewn in a way that the front visor was slanted upward like a raised eyebrow and made it look comical. When I realized that my dark blue-gray Epoch hat was a favorite, I logged into Amazon to see if they had it in brown. Lucky me. I'd go with this brand if I ever want another.

The hat is well made. However I have a 7 1/2 hat size. I ordered the XLarge as I do with other hats, motorcycle helmets etc. When I tilt my head to look down this hat falls off. The size runs way over standard. 7 1/2 needs to order large, not XL.

Nicely well-made newsboy cap. Says wool blend, but on cap 100% wool. Wool is not quite the high quality of comparable Irish caps I have bought in Ireland; however, the price is about 1/3 as much. I wear a 7 3/8 cap typically and I bought the XL, which was just right. The hat has a quality look and is finished well. It also has a quilted lining and would be ideal for cold weather. Excellent buy! I plan to add another to my wardrobe for winter at these prices.

Recomiendo las gorras de esta marca Epoch. Son excelentes. He comprado varias gorras Epoch y varias de otras marcas y la marca Epoch es la única que me ha gustado. Mejor corte, buenas medidas, gorras cómodas, buen material. La última que compré es esta gorra invernal. Es muy bonita, cálida y cómoda y a buen precio.

Me quedó perfecta y se me ve aún mejor, la verdad la calidad esta muy por encima de mis expectativas, sin duda volvería a comprar otro modelo, quizá si eres de cabeza pequeña te quede grande, ten en cuenta eso antes de comprar, de lo contrario es una compra EXCELENTE

Cumple con las características, no es ajustable, a mi me queda bien pero si se siente un poco de presión supongo es normal para evitar que se caiga o mueva al caminar, los materiales corresponden al precio

Great looking hat and appears to be well made . I've only had the hat for a short time so I can't say how reliable it is but the construction of the hat is trim and strong . I would definitely recommend this hat to anyone who appreciates "newsboy" style . As usual delivery and packaging was excellent !Best newsboy
