Well worth it!
We love this! I bought it for a gift for a 10 yr old boy for Christmas who always tries the claw grabbers at the arcade. He could not stop playing this. And his siblings, a 7 yr old and a 13 yr old fought him over it.Preparation is the key: As the gift giver, you need to try this out first. It took several tries to get the right candy/toy size and ratio. The picture of the toy tells you a lot. It likes to pick up wrapped small candies. It doesn't like slick easter eggs. It doesn't like fun size candy bars or anything heavy. You have to be able to get the toy over the lip of the area where you win so it can't be long or big. I ended up using lindt chocolate balls, sticky 2 in rubber snakes, hard plastic bugs and sort of origami folded dollar bills. Like others have said the noise is a BIG problem for adults. I just put a piece of duct tape over the speaker. Also you can use regular coins but the kids thought it was funny to trick the machine by pulling the plastic coin in and out of the slot really quick. Kids, go figure.THE BAD: It is a pain in the butt to get the plastic off the claw but it can be done just be patient and maybe use kitchen tongs. Also, after about two hours of play the kids had jiggled one of the handles too hard and the ball part broke off. I was really upset, but the kids could have cared less and just kept playing and are still playing 3 weeks later just fine. Also, remember to switch the on/off switch off. Without a coin in it , it will just be quiet and you'll think it's off but really it's burning through batteries.

Wanted to give it more than 5 stars!
I ordered this for my son, and he was super glued to this claw machine! It has not yet broken or failed on him, it has a sound control, and it can even pick up a 2 inch mini-figure and other things! Although made of cheap plastic, and the claw can be slow, the advantages outnumber the disadvantages. Good for gifts for any occasion, and claw addicts for practicing. Also glad I got this claw machine before the price rose up to 55$.

Kids could not have been more excited!
My kids (7 year old and 5 year old) received this as a gift for Christmas and it's been by far the one present they have played with non-stop!... They had so much fun putting in their own "prizes" and winning them... I agree about how loud the machine is and wish there was a volume button... There is a small slot on top to place the prizes in the machine and once they are in the machine, the only way to get them out is by "winning" them because if you turn the machine upside down to dump the toys out then there's a chance in tangling up the metal chain that the claw hangs from... So I understand why they made the slot small (as to not put too large of objects in the machine, but I also wish there was another way to get a prize out that a certain 5 year didn't mean to put in haha)... Also I wish the coin slot (to get the coins out of the machine) wasn't located on the bottom because once again kids are quick to turn the machine upside down to open it up to retrieve their coins to reuse causing the chain on the claw to get tangled... Overall, I would consider this a WIN because of how much fun my kids have had with it (after we set up some ground rules for how to treat the machine)

Switch broke
My son got this in his easter basket and it work fine and loved it till about 4 hrs in and one of the switches stopped working. He wont let me return it just yet but in a few days I'm going to return it after the newest wears off for him. Also the circus music gets very annoying after awhile. It would be nice if it had an on and off switch.

Fun gift!
Works great & tons of fun! Daughter received this for Xmas & has used it each day since. Not so hard to get a candy that it becomes frustrating. There are times you can't grab one, but that's what keeps it fun.We found that the lighter weight candies in a twist wrapper work the best. Taffy was the heaviest that still worked for us. As long as there is a wrapper to grab it seems to work great.
