Time consuming build, but a beautiful result
Building this took several hours and it arrived in two boxes. I definitely recommend two people due to the size. I had my teenage son separate out everything before we started, but we built it together. We built the four walls inside our house, then moved outside to put them all together. The wood is stained and stamped with the assembly letters, which I liked more than peeling off stickers that make a mess after you are done, but it is a bit tougher to see the letters (dark grey on light grey). Make sure your lighting is good when building. The wood is super soft so you have to go very slow when the final screw tightening is done or risk splitting the wood. The wood staining is very visually appealing, but allows for chips or scratches more easily if rubbed against something too hard. Situational awareness is key in this regard. We didn’t go with the standard configuration of shelves/boxes inside but it was very easy to design this to your specific needs. The softer wood also allows for easy customization if you put something other shelves or what have you inside. We ended up cutting a section out of wire out and installing a shelf upside down for the window entrance, for example. You can also easily remove wired sections if you want since the wire is attached with wood staples, but since I knew my location was permanent, I opted to just cut directly into it. We installed this under a covered porch with concrete underneath so we put down a faux grass rug and we also left the roof flat, instead of angled, which saved a small amount of time and doesn’t effect anything because of our placement. At 5’7” I easily fit through the door so I can change things around to suit my current front porch holiday theme. This was a big selling point for me, to not have to duck through the door to enter. We also bought a combination sliding bolt lock for the door so no one could just walk up and open it without the code since we live in a neighborhood and I didn’t want someone possibly walking up and taking my cats. The other small side doors I screwed shut, but this can easily be undone for possible future expansion. All four of our cats already love this catio. It allows them to go outside to view birds and nap in the sun while being protected. All four can easily use it at once and I feel it’s a must so that my indoor cats can experience the outdoors as much as possible. I’m so happy with the beautiful result.

Our cats love this.
We were looking for a way to let out cats go outside without meeting the local rattlesnakes and coyotes. This catio is the perfect solution. It went together in a few leisurely hours. I set it up on our deck in front of a kitchen window. I replaced the window screen with a piece of melamine board with a pet door in it. I had to construct a short 16" "tunnel" to connect pet door to the catio. In an afternoon it was finished and the cats were out there by that evening. They love being able to come and go as they please and we don't have to worry about them getting eaten. They liked it so much that I bought a matching cat walk and attached it to the side of the catio to give them more space to roam. They love going out there and watching the squirrels and birds. I might add another section in the future. The construction of the catio is only OK. The wood is very soft and while it is "painted", it's really only a paint wash. I don't know how long it will stand up to the sun and rain. I probably should have repainted it before assembly. One good thing about it is that the panels are all removable so if you want to expand it, that's fairly easy. I would recommend it if you want to keep your indoor cats happy and safe.

Worth the money and time to put together!
Great Catio! Has some loose locks and maybe the wood has a few imperfections, but once it is put together it is great! My cats love it! You will need to do some adjusting to your and your cats needs and add some personal choices, but it fits my cats and my needs. Took me and my son about two and a half hours to complete. Took a long time to unpack and put some order to all the parts. Definitely a two-person job!

Great Investment!!!
Best purchase ever! This catio fits perfectly on my patio! It has been a game-changer for my cats’ happiness. Having connected it to the house with a window-installed cat door, they have the freedom to come and go as they wish. They love being able to lay in it and watch the birds and squirrels throughout the day, and to prowl in the night (beautifully lit up with rope lights! Haha) after critters that buzz around them. It’s also a great outlet to the backyard when we are home. We prop the “human’s” door open on the catio, and let them safely explore the backyard, knowing they have an immediate entrance back to the safety of home! It has stood up tremendously well throughout all of the seasons of Oklahoma (wind, snow, ice, hail, heat, and rain) on my covered patio. I don’t know how long it would last out in the open. The wood is very light and not very sturdy. It is a good size for the cats, and accessible by humans to clean, but not necessarily hand out. A bit tight for that!

My local contractor really liked the quality of this kennel!
I had a local contractor assemble this catio for me. For a medium weight kennel, the quality of the pre-assembled pieces was of high quality. Each corner is dovetailed and reinforced with deep screwes. Some pieces come with additional dowel joints that can be glued to further strengthen the joints. The wood is lightweight, perhaps a white pine or fir but is well sealed by a penetrating coat of paint. It took my contractor about 3.5 hours to assemble from opening the boxes to securing the kennel to our porch. We ended up unpacking everything and organizing the pieces by their identifying letter prior to beginning. It made it easier to follow the instructions by having the pieces readily available to put together. The hardware provided was adequate and worked perfectly in securing the parts together. The door even had corner metal flanges pre-installed to strengthen the corners! The size of this catio is perfect for our side porch. I installed carpet pieces on to some of the landings just to provide the cat with some traction when jumping from one level to another. I must say that he LOVES HIS CATIO! It is well worth the investment ... building one from scratch would have cost a whole lot more. The animal screen is perfect for his safety and is set in place with deep staples. It is a handsome structure and fits in well with our home atmosphere. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

Can be built by one person
I really wanted to give this more stars, I was so excited for it to come but so many of the panels have damage on them. I even had to glue one together to make sure it was sturdy enough. It comes in many, many parts however that being said was not hard to put together. I did it by myself, it took 4 hours. That includes unpacking and sorting. I also have a ton of experience building online furniture so if you’re a first timer it may take longer. I didn’t have the option of help, but for those wondering you can build this by yourself. It’s just a giant pain in the butt. Having said that my cats already like. I just wish it was a little wider. However it fits the spot in the back of the house that we wanted to put it perfectly. I had to rig up side panels and an extended roof cause my house has windows that just out so it couldn’t fit snuggly. Not to manufacture window fitting/roof extender could be something to think about as an add on. I’m excited to spruce it up a bit with some vines and blankets for the babies. Seems to be sturdy enough to last awhile.

Awesome!!!!
Absolutely beautiful! I wish I got the biggest size ! But this one will do for now , took a long time to put together so much sure you have someone to help you ! I was able to set this up a couple different ways and change out the doors and move panels to different sides ! This actually holds up my 20 pound mainecoons with no problems or sag ! It's perfect and I love it !

Nice Catio for the Price, Cats enjoy it
This is a very nice product. Good value for the money. My cats love it. As stated in other reviews, the instructions SUCK! Half of the pieces were not stamped with ID letters. The other half, the numbers were not legible. It took a lot of time just trying to find the right pieces for each section by looking at the pictures in the manual. It seems flimsy at first but once assembled it is quite sturdy. I actually had to hire a handyman to assemble it for me. It was too hard for me (I'm senior female). Per a suggestion in another review, I applied a waterproof varnish to the entire Catio, inside and out; even though my Catio is on my deck under a roof. The rest of my review is mainly suggestions. I put diatomaceous earth beneath the waterproof indoor/outdoor carpeting on the floor to help with pests (ants are a big problem where I live). I also sprayed all the inside shelves and floor carpeting with non-toxic pest killer for ants and fleas. All of the pieces of the indoor/outdoor carpeting (plastic artificial turf) I cut to size myself and glued them to the "resting shelves" but I didn't glue it down on the deck flooring. Everything can be hosed down for easy cleaning. I have 5 indoor-only cats. They like basking in the evening sunlight on the upper shelves. The Catio is not as big as it looks online, but it is as described. I can walk in it and turn around and that is about all because of the shelves. All in all, I am very happy with the Catio. I am adding some plants around the outside of it so the cats won't feel so exposed. I will be putting a bird feeder and squirrel feeder just across from it so they can watch and enjoy "natural entertainment." I would definitely recommend this Catio, but be prepared for unclear instructions. All that was needed for assembly was a battery operated phillips screwdriver. He also installed a pet door through the double wall of my mobile home. I decided where to put the pet door and then once installed in the correct position, he simply cut the Catio wire to the same shape and size as the pet door. One special addition - I cut and painted measured pieces of plywood 12" tall to put around the 3 open sides of the Catio. There are feral and neighbor's cats around and they have a tendency to spray (tom cats). So this barrier is to stop them from spraying into the Catio so as not to upset my spayed and neutered cats. It works perfectly, one sprayed last night! Today I also put some hot pepper seeds and cayenne pepper down around the outside of the plywood as a deterrent . This won't harm the wild cats, just deter them. It also works well in my garden as the wild cats want to use it as a litter box! Below are pictures of the Catio on my deck and 3 of my cats checking it out immediately after assembly!
