very good solution for fan cooling in our root cellar. We set it up opposite of the directions for solar hot water systems. It also helps to maintain the proper humidity for vegetable storage, not too high or low. We used a power relay to protect the controller, as suggested, and set the differential at only 3ºF. For humidity control, this setting works best in New Mexico. In wetter conditions, use higher differentials. Last issue, use a larger radial fan than the normal household vent system - - you need to move more air than you may think to get good results.

Used this to replace a solar hot water controller damaged by lightening. It seems to be working. The wiring was not entirely intuitive, but the directions were reasonable. Unit is supposed to fit into some kind of electronics cabinet that is not included, unlike the fully enclosed unit I had before.

So far so good.

I bought this to switch from my pool's filter pump to the pump that sends water to my SwimEasy solar heating panels to heat my pool. I've had it for a few years and it works great! I had it hooked up incorrectly but I contacted customer service and they had me send a photo and immediately showed me my error and it started working as it should. I have it hooked up to a SUPCO switching relay (90382) and when the temperature differential is 10 degrees (set by me - meaning that the water in the solar panels is 10 degrees warmer than my pool) it powers the relay it goes from normally closed (runs the filter pump) to open and powers the pump to the heater. Then, when the differential drops to 5 degrees, the relay closes and the power goes back to my filter pump. I have the system on a timer for daytime hours and it works flawlessly!

My previous controller for my solar hot water system died, and I've been pretty happy with this unit as a replacement. It's solidly built and seems durable, and it's been functioning without any difficulties for a couple of weeks. Some have remarked that the instructions aren't super clear, and I would agree with that assessment; but with the included diagrams one can work through the installation procedure well enough. One item to note: it provides only differential control; you cannot set a maximum tank temperature at which it will turn off. This doesn't really bother me that much, but sometimes in Texas summers the collector temperatures can exceed 180 degrees, which is greater than what the pex pipe that services the unit is rated for. Mounting the unit required some creativity also. But it works fine, and it was about half the cost of units that seemed to be functionally equivalent.

T2 temp sensor gives very high temp during day 220 f, but is ok at night. Trying to figure out why.....????

I used this to control my solar hot water system. The instructions are a little hard to understand ( hence the 4 star rating ) but I was able to figure them out and get the unit working.Quality seems ok.I used this to replace a Goldline solar controller ( $150 replacement cost ) and I like this one so much better.The fact this I can see the temp of my water tank and the temp of my collector at anytime is a real advantage.This works great in my setup.

Control manual would have been very helpfull from the start, but they were verry helpfull, and good about dealing with my frustration.

Tested over one winter and controller performed well. One big issue with the design of this controller is the location of the wiring screws. If you look at the pictures, you will notice you will not have any access to remove any wiring as the screws are not accessible from the back when using the controller as shown. Apparently this controller is designed only for equipment that needs a single controller, not multiple controllers. This is so far the first temperature controller i found that do not have screws accessible from the back. Also, the wire lugs of this controller is quite undersized. The output was supposed to handle a max of 10amperes, but the lugs are sized for a 3 ampere load.

I use this to control the pump on my solar tubes. Having two temperature readouts is very convenient especially when commissioning. You can see exactly what is happening.

Was skeptical but this temperature controller works better than expected. Am very please with it.

the instructions dont tell you what power supply to put on the device....you have to go back to the order page to figure it out.not tried it yet....still figuring it out.
