I was at a sporting good store and some women came in and started shoplifting. One of the things they stole was some bear spray. When the loss prevention person confronted them, they bear sprayed the entire front of the store.It was extraordinarily potent, hard to breathe, suffocating and I was in the back of the store. They were able to immobilize the security guard and run to their car. I don't know how this works on bears, but it appears to work on people.

I did not have to use it so I can not speak about its usefulness... very disappointing. But it made me feel secure and tougher than a bear :)

What can I say but hope to never use it. I will add that the fire safety clip is easy to knock off and I did this while hunting in the woods and is was lost. I used a piece of wood and a rubber band for the remainder of the trip. On the bright side I contacted Sabre and they sent me a new clip. NOTE the clip has a little hole where a string can be passed thru it and tied to can, make sure string is long enough to be out of the way when safety is removed, this way when the clip is removed/knocked it will not be lost.

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I wish the neck strap had an around the body stretch strap. Other than that I'd give it 6 stars not 5...Bear spray is 98% effective. Firearms are 85% effective. Buy this product!There's no need to remove this from it's sheath. You can just remove the safety and shoot from the chest. That makes it much faster on the draw. Being able to get a quick draw is extremely important!!! A black bear, which is the onlybear in my area (Western Washington) can go from 0-35mph faster than you can say oh crap. They make no falsecharger like brown and grizzly's, if you're looking at a black bearmaking a run at you and you don't get your mace out you're going to die, period! Speed is essential.This product is great. It's Max strength and good distance. Study up on exactly how to deploy bear mace. Make no mistake, knowing how to usebear mace is the difference between being lunch or just scared. Ya don't want to be lunch.I killed a 300 lb black bear this year hunting. I was hunting bear, so that was a planned harvest. If this bear was attacking the 2+ inch claws would tear you apart in one swipe. The massive paw would break you, literaly break you. Your bones would be splinters.Good product, quick draw, good range. I've tried out an old can to know how affective the range and volume is.We had a can get set off in the truck one day. My wife got hit in the face. It penetrated the skin and lasted for day's. Sweaty skin, washing your face reactivated it. Make sure the saftey is in place or pay a big price.

Love wearing when out walking day or night.Fit well under jacket.

have not used it, my friend brought down a cougar with it. Make sure you practice with the chest holster. Also make sure you clip the safety cord..Also good for two legged animals but always aim for the groin, it can cause blindness in humans.

Very good, although I did not use the halter, I just used the holder and used my backpacker stap since I was not wearing a belt

Finally got to use this spray for the first time. Had to spray a dog. I sprayed it once, full in the face. It ran off a bit, then came back. I sprayed a second time-full in the face. The spray did not seem to faze the dog in the least. If anything it seemed like the noise of the spray being discharged confused/frightened the dog more than anything. If you’re using this against a bear—good luck. Also the discharge range of the spray is maybe 10-15 feet
