Nuvo Iron PCB03 4" x 4" Ball Post Cap, Black

We used this as a "post topper" for a Hoselink retractable water hose post we just built/installed. My husband and I are both very picky about how things look feel - substantial or cheap. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this ball post cap was. We had read one review mention that it was cast in two pieces, but the description did not mention this, nor did the photos, so we took a gamble. I'm so glad we did because it is one smooth continuous piece, feels heavy duty, has a nice matte/satin black finish, came with two black screws to secure it, and really made our little insignificant post and water hose project look about as elegant as a sawed off fence post could possibly look. Ha! Nice little purchase that we felt made a substantial impact.

We had to paint ours white to match the rest of our trim, but these are very nicely made and sturdy. Easy to install. Gives a great finished look to our front porch steps.

These were perfect for our (in progress) project! We have a victorian home, and love the authentic look. For dried wood posts, they fit easily, had to grind down the wet pressure treated just a bit to slip on. Bought 10 and was very happy with end result. The quality is great and the finish seems like it will last. Could do without the logos, but you can not really see them well.

The posts installed when we renovated were Home Depot with square wooden caps that look crappy even on an outside deck. I replaced all 5 of them with these cast iron post caps and "voila" - immediate upgrade in less than 30 minutes! Thrilled! And no my mother can grab these post caps while starting up the stairs which is uch more stable for her, too. Worth every penny.

fits right over a 4" x 4" pressure treated post. so the actual inside measurement is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". way better than wooden ones. no water gonna get into the top of 4x4

This is actually very nice and heavy. It is a nice accent for a wood post top to give it some class. I used it outside on a post that I am using to hang my firepit tools on. I stained and varnished the post a dark color and the cap really makes it look nice. I would purchase this again if I was in need of a post cap that looks and feels great.

We built a fence to divide our front garden from our neighbor's using wooden materials from Home Depot and topped it off with these beautiful ball post caps. We love it! The only issue is that there are two types of caps under this product. One fits perfectly on 3.5” x 3.5” posts without the company logo, while the other, with the company logo, is way too tight for 3.5” x 3.5” posts. They are also slightly different height (see one of my images). I returned all the ones with the logo and ordered more, hoping to receive more without the logo. Although it was hectic to go through the ordering and returning process, we highly recommend these ball post caps. They make our average fence look fancy.

I wanted post caps with a little style. They needed to be durable and ready for customization (we are powder coating handrails and post caps to match). These fit the bill. They easily slid onto our 4"x4" posts. We had allowed our posts time to dry, so that may be why they were easier for us vs other reviewers who complained of tight fit, perhaps because their wood was too wet or green. The pour quality of the aluminum into the cast is a little rough, but this only affects the inside where you don't see, but may also contribute to fitting issues for some. I will try to remember to update after our posts are painted and all the metal work is powder coated. I do wish there was a coordinating flat-topped square post cap for alternating or for tight spaces because stylistically, in my opinion, the level step design on this base is not complimented by a pyramid or flat top pyramid post cap. Overall, I do recommend.
