I have bought so much from this company and they have never let me down. All of there products are amazingly good quality and its a bonus they offer unfinished so you can make them your own style. Price is spot on for the workmanship and heftiness of the furniture.

Nice solid piece of furniture, comes in only a couple pieces that are simple to assemble (literally top and bottom and legs basically). Love that the drawers were already assembled too. Only 4 stars due to a huge crack in one side from shipping. We decided to do a repair instead of returning because of the hassle. Just needed some wood glue. You do need some wood conditioner before you stain, but it looks lovely afterwards. Very good price for something solid wood. This is the right size for a small kitchen island but we use it as a taller console table in our hallway.

This is the seventh of these International Concepts pieces that I have purchased. They are all made from Parawood, an Asian hard wood from depleted rubber trees. Like all the others, this is a solid, heavy piece of furniture with no particle board to be found. These are all made in a butcher block type construction, which in some cases is a bit tricky to stain. I have found that a penetrating type stain or a wood dye produces better results that a gel stain. You may find a spot or two where the adhesive may not have been completely sanded away and the stain will not take. A furniture scratch filler or a magic marker works well to cover those small spots and blend with your stain. I have not tried painting, but from reading other reviews, best results will be obtained by using a good primer. This particular table had no broken or damaged pieces, and I have only had one of my purchases where one part was split, requiring some minor repair.Instructions for assembly are well illustrated and simple to follow. In rare instances, pilot holes were missing, and you may need a drill to get things started. Overall, this is the best bargain for unfinished furniture that I have been able to find. I highly recommend this furniture and will be purchasing more, as my daughter has jumped onboard and asked me to help her in replacing some of her falling apart Sauder furniture.

Had been looking for a piece of furniture to make a nice wine bar, found that this was the perfect piece to modify. It came quickly and well packaged. Did not require any additional sanding before applying paint and stain and was very simple and straight forward to assemble. Picked up the stainless steel wine rack and stemware racks on Amazon and added a board below the drawers to fasten them to. Made a nice custom wine bar to match the rest of my furniture for under $200, look forward to buying more of these unfinished furniture kits and customizing them for our house.

This is the third piece of International Concepts unfinished furniture we have purchased as we furnish our new apartment. They are well made and the only fit issue on all three of the tables has been a small gap where the vertical pieces on either side of the drawers don't fit tightly against the horizontal pieces and leave a very small gap. Also, due to the variety of wood used, one has to take steps to ensure an even stain - especially when using water-based products. I highly recommend a water based pre-stain conditioner before applying a water based stain. When that is done, the pieces come out very nicely. All in all, we are quite pleased with the finished product(s) and wouldn't hesitate to order more should we need them.

Wood is cut very well. all holes lined up perfectly. Extra smooth finish surprised me... Hit is with some 220 and/or 320 sand paper and you've got high quality finish. Stains very well. Very little blotching.....a prestain is a good idea but you may like it without one. Oh, the stain and prestain are only used if your finish is a clear finish. If you paint, just some light sanding and you're ready. Very please with the product

I have ordered several International Concepts unfinished furniture pieces. They have all been sturdy, well made, and easy to put together. The desk I wanted wasn't available when I ordered this table, so we cut it down a bit to make it desk height. I have wood burned them all, and love that I can personalize them.
