Mr. McFarlane, please take my money.
This was The Walking Dead series I was waiting for, and the waiting is over. I don't need articulation, they're going to sit on a shelf. When I want to see 'em move, I'll watch an episode. And I'm a bigger fan of the television series than I am of the comic book series and styling. The likenesses are fantastic and the poses well chosen. My only request now is that they work backward, that they add characters we've lost, starting with Lori, Hershel, and Glen.

It's Daryl and you can't go wrong with that!
McFarlane has switched focus from the 5" figure line to this new more detailed but less articulated 7" series. Daryl is part of the red color tops and is figure #6 of 8.These figures so far are pretty nice. I think even those who are upset that the 5" line is more or less cancelled will still admit that these new larger figures look very detailed and accurate. The lack of usable articulation is a disappointment, especially when rival companies like NECA, DST, Mezco, and others are able to do both in a satisfying way. These Walking Dead figures seem to fit more with the horror figures from 10-15 years ago by SOTA, NECA, and McFarlane itself. The packaging is collector friendly where the figure can be removed and put back in with no problem. A non-character specific display base is included for setting up on a shelf.Daryl so far is perhaps the best of the series. As of this writing there are 4 other Walking Dead figures released: Rick, Michonne, Travis, and Madison. There's several reasons I'd put Daryl above the others:1. It's Daryl. I know that's sort of an obvious and subjective answer but it's also a strong one. Daryl is way cooler than Madison or Travis for example. He's a fan favorite and deservedly so.2. He has perhaps the most useful articulation thus far. The figures seem like they were sculpted without articulation in mind and then it was added in as an afterthought. It's particularly useless on Michonne for example. For Daryl though it works to get at least 2-3 solid show poses. I count 14 points, though that sounds better than it is. Ball neck and shoulders and cut ( aka swivel) at elbows, wrists, waist, thighs, and ankles. Daryl can hold his knife like he does on the show, with one arm in a blocking position and the other gripping it upside down. He can hold his signature crossbow with one or both arms. There's not much the lower body articulation does.3. Likeness. Norman Reedus' likeness is stronger here than on fellow McFarlane figures like the 5" figures or the 10". Be careful though, the paint job on these varies quite a bit from figure to figure, especially with the facial hair. I went through about 12 Daryl figures in the store before picking the one I liked best. If you're picky be careful buying online. At a retail price of $20 is a little on the steep side when compared to other similar products but if you can find it cheaper like the $15-16 the first series are already selling for then it's a very fair value. If you're a longtime figure collector you'll know what you're in for and the decision will come down to if you have a 7" scale collection or just really like Daryl. For casual collectors and walking dead fans this figure works great for standing on a shelf or a desk and looking cool.

Was undecided at first
Awesome..... very detailed and realistic. It's the 7" version. I was undecided between this one and the 5" one with the bike but I'm glad I decided on this one. I'm sure the other one is great too.... and cheaper.... but I'm glad I got his one... very pleased.

Even better than he looks here!
I bought Daryl as a gift for a friend who I think may be more crazy about him then I am. She loved it! Shipping and packaging were excellent and the figure looks much better in reality than the the pic here shows. I was very happy with this purchase which is exactly as described, maybe better!

Great sculpt but a little unstable.
This figure is fantastic in that they really captured Daryl's likeness. That being said I have seen this figure in the shops recently and there is some slight variation amongst the faces so some are more Daryl like than others. The one I received was great! My only complaints, which reduced the rating to a 4 out of 5 from a 5 out of 5 are as follows. 1) The hands are not flexible enough to allow the figure to properly hold the cross bow although it can be somewhat balanced on the hands in a semi secure fashion. 2) The feet are slightly angled which gives a beautiful sense of movement to the figure, but unfortunately they drilled the hole on the foot that rests more on the side of said foot instead of drilling into the other foot which sits flat. Because of this the figure does not attach firmly to the peg on the stand and as a result the standing figure is fairly unstable. Mine is balanced for now but I'm cautious around it. Great collectible overall. Shipped fairly quickly and arrived with no damage to the box or figure.
