YES!
So I started drawing Mandalas and Zentangles this is the third Compass I have bought. It is however the best so far it's heavier well put together and intuitive to use. It does take some getting used to especially the extender and pen attachments, but once you do it's smooth sailing.

First purchase from Mr. Pen - LIKE IT A LOT!
I have been a user of Staedtler products since the 80's. They were always the "go to" products even when it took a bit of work to afford them. I needed to replace a compass part as I lost the wheel and screw; since you can't just buy them I tried out the lower price Mr. Pen set.Incredible! I am stunned! They ARE heavy so be advised their weight may get on our hands after all day of drafting. My usage now is for mapping and traveling so I need something more of a "hard to destroy" category even if it adds weight. Would prefer something without the weight and with the "non-destroyable" but titanium compass sets for a good price don't seem a thing. The set is great. It will now be my travel set.THE ONLY PROBLEM - or "oddity" in this case - is the spare set of "parts" they put into the kit. OK, spare hard points? Check - perfect. Spare wheels? Check - perfect. Spare screws? NO SPARE SCREWS! Changes are if you have them in a map case and lose the wheel you will lose the screw! Why not include a couple screws? Remove one wheel and add three screws? THAT was my only complaint and obviously not going to lose t star for it! Just odd. Really, just plain odd.

Reasonable compass
I was looking for an all-metal compass which didn't cost more than twenty dollars, and I came across this set. While I didn't have any high expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this set. It is an all-metal construction compass (albeit of an obviously inferior alloy which is nonetheless acceptable for the purpose), and additionally it comes with some useful components such as the extension arm, and the pen/pencil adapter all of which are also constructed of the same metal alloy as the compass itself. The set looks and feels sturdy enough that hopefully it shouldn't fall apart after a few uses. The additional included leads and needles, etc., are nice but I think most of us would prefer a durable compass as opposed to a flimsy one which comes with extra leads! All in all, this is a good compass set which does a decent job of drawing circles with some additional bells and whistles.

Great for the price
There are a lot of functional pieces to this set and for being cast metal, it seems sturdy enough to last. I was pleasantly surprised at how large of a writing instrument the pencil holder section will accommodate. I can't think of a time that I would actually have the need, but it is large enough to hold a full-size Sharpie. The only thing that I feel would increase the value would be if it came in packaging that could more readily be used for storage as the molded plastic insert that holds the items in the outer packaging is very thin/floppy, making it difficult to put the parts back in it and challenging to get back into the outer packaging.

Missing the extension beam
I just received this and it looks to be well made. It is missing the extension beam, which is a bit disappointing. The seller then contacted me and offered a full refund. I turned it down as it seemed excessive as the rest of the item was completely fine. They refunded me anyway. That's above and beyond.

Don't read the bad reviews
Bought this cause it is cheap and needed a compass for leather work. Every part holds too tight. Have to wiggle things apart. Very sturdy and easy to use. The best thing about it is it has locks that you can push in to close the points fast. The oy problem I have with them is I would like a box to put them in instead of the packaging they came in but so far even that is holding up. Don't waste your money on more expensive ones.

I tested it for weeks. Not great.
For my needs it did not suit and I have used compass devices for over 30 years. Not happy with this choice.. I have repeatedly kept doing my best to make this work for my needs for a few weeks or more but it’s not able to deliver what I need.Maybe I just made the wrong choice.Problems: Sloppy mechanisms that hold the compass in place on your setting will fail up to 1.5 mm. I can set it and then give it a very light pressure and it clicks to something within that range of error. Significant for me. Maybe not for you. Also, the clasping mechanism are with issues. Either the pivot is too hard to pull back out or won’t stay in place. Big negative.I have tried the options to add a pen and the flaw only is maximized. It’s about a C in grade. I won’t give it anything more and I feel I am being generous.Continues to get more inaccurate and I have tried to figure it out but I simply know what simple is and it’s a simple design flaw or manufacturing error. .The thread ratio is fine but the threads are undersized so they have sloppy motion under the slightest pressure as you turn the compass. So it’s no go for me. Going into the junk drawer and I will seek out better alternatives as this was very frustrating.I will take two stars off for those issues and I haven’t even tried the other functions of it because if it isn’t working in its fundamental design then it wins be expandable in its aspects.
