Q: How many ounces does each section hold?

Not sure. They are pretty big. We are counting macros so I know they easily fit 6oz of chicken in the big side & 5 oz sweet potatoes in the little side. :)

Q: How do the compartments break down on the 2-compartment model? (3 compartment lists 2/1.25/1.25 but didn't see it on the 2's)

It's hard for me to say, as I am storing only sold food. Right now, I easily store 6 ounces in the large side and 3.5 ounces in the smaller side. One thing: the divider does not go up to the lid, so if you are storing liquid, you would have to be careful.

Q: Are the lids easy to take off/on? I have elderly parents and the strength in their hands is not that great.

Yes fairly easy. I've had other brands that I couldn't close without using all my might. I think they would be great for them.

Meal prep saving Grace.

These are fabulous for meal prepping. I especially love that they are made of glass. I use them every weekend to stock up on meals for the week ahead. They are wonderful, however they do not stack so well and so you would need large enough cupboard space.
