By far the best
I've gone through a few cheapo bike lights, but they never seem to last more than 6-9 months. I have a lot of Nitecore headlamps and flashlights, so I know they make quality stuff. I figured I'll save money since I'm sure this one will last. It has 2 light - one for distance and another one for short. It's so bright I usually run it on level 2. I only ride before the sun comes up in Arizona so I have to make sure I have a bright, reliable light. Battery is excellent and lasts through about 3 weeks of riding 5 days a week easily, with more to spare.USB-C charging port. I haven't hooked up the remote button but I'll do it soon to play with it.

Brilliant!
UPDATE after 37 months (3 years): The headlight is still going strong with regular use! The battery capacity has decreased but that still at least 1.5 h on high. It looks like this flashlight is projected to last for 5 years! It is after it once overheated and once was hit hard in a crash, but survived both with the recessed light not being damaged while the housing next to the light sustained abrasions.UPDATE after 16 months of regular use (3-4 days a week, 2 hours per day):So far this headlight has been excellent. It is a quality product, bright enough, lasts for at least 2 hours on full brightness plus 2 hours in a blinking mode. It was fairly reliable. Cons: It spontaneously turned off a few times over 5 months - not bad, but you may want to have a 2nd light on. I got once in a heavy rain with the remote connected to the headlight. Coincidence or not, the light malfunctioned and started to turn off after being recharged. I thought, it is done... But it recovered after being re-charged again, and works fine after that. I sopped using the remote. It maybe desired on city streets, but not necessary in urban areas.Original review:I use this light for commuting through both city and urban area, including dark, long hills where downhill speed can reach up to 40 miles/h and unknown objects may be present in the bike lane. This light let me cruise unrestricted, and I also like I can easily switch between high and low beam with a remote control to avoid blinding oncoming traffic. I would say I would not mind the light to be even brighter than 1000+800 lumens, but this is enough for class 3 e-bike that normally goes up to 28 mi/h. Battery life is long enough, at least 2 h 45 min at the brightest setting ("trail" mode with dual beam, level 4), but substantially longer in "Rode" mode when either one or the other beam in on. The remaining time in particular mode is shown on the lighted display. The light need to be positioned at exact angle for maximum effectiveness. Also, you may want to experiment on the best orientation of the remote control so not to compromise the safety and ergonomics of the handlebar grip. Really nothing negative about this light. Minor: It seems to require 5V USB power for charging - most ports on my laptop were inadequate. It takes long time for full charge (perhaps, 5+ hours) since the battery has high capacity. Finally, I had a chance to compare Nitecore BR35 and Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike lights as I own both. The Nitecore is definitely better while it was $20-40 cheaper. This Nitecore light has a narrower beam so it illuminates a bit longer path, but the charge lasts about twice longer. The mount of the Nitecore is sturdier. However, the selling point of the Fenix BC30 is that you can have unlimited supply of charged batteries with you, and the Fenix light will likely outlast Nitecore which has built-in battery. It is also a good 2nd light to have. The Nitecore BR35 light is well built and highly recommended. It could be one of the best bike lights on the market at this time in this price range.

Ordered two Nitecore br35 lights. Both defective! UPDATE!
Update: I found one power adapter in my storage: 5.1V 2.1A. Charges the br35 just fine and charging works as advertised. The OLED displays while charging, blue light blinks until a steady light indicates fully charged. It's a powerful high beam/low beam light that extends my riding season even on dark rainy roads in winer. Note: the manual that comes with the light shows the capacity of the power adapter needed. However the print is very small.xxxxxxxxxxBought two Nitecore br35 lights. Neither will charge even when left overnight. Tried several times with both lights. All other features are amazing: brightness, flexibility of settings for road, city and trail situations. Comes with a remote switch that is useful. I would like it to would work for me.UPDATE:: Lumen Tactical, maker of the Nitecore light responded quickly. Idea is that my plug-in power adapter rated at 5V 1A may not be sufficient to charge the light. Need to use the Nitecore cable provided and a 5V 2A adapter. I will re-order and give this light a third try. Note: all my adapters for all my electronics: laptops/iPads and other equipment, use 5V 1A adapters, which seem to be standard in this household. Will update and change the rating if I find the Nitecore light can indeed be charged.

Excellent quality! Very well built!
Having been a NiteRider brand user for years I decided to try the BR35 as it covered both wide beam and long throw via its dual light arrangement, in comparison to the NiteRider Lumina Dual 1800 which accomplishes this via its lens configuration. The BR35 is comparable in size to the Dual 1800 and it is is made from solid aluminum and is somewhat hefty but its battery life is excellent, about 15 to 20% longer than the Dual 1800 in similar brightness settings. I ride through some trails at night that have no light and because of the trees' canopy moonlight does not get down to the trails whatsoever and this lights up all in front of me. I can see the riding surface as well far down the trail and to the sides very clearly, this light is impressive.I will be buying more of these for my other bikes. They come well packaged and the seller shipped it immediately, so super fast shipping. The mount is solid, so all positives.
