Edit: November 13, 2021. I just re-read my original review from July 2017, and decided to upgrade it to 4 stars from 3 stars. It still works, and we enjoyed it for three and a half summers, plus a few times in the fall. Sadly, this past summer 2021, we were eaten up by mosquitoes every time so went inside. We had a very wet summer. I bought a bug zapper, but we had gotten out of the habit of using the fire pit! Maybe we'll try on Thanksgiving.Original review: We finally just now set up this fire pit. The ones we see in the big box stores are cheaply made from China and this one is no exception, especially for the $760 price. Then you buy a propane tank for $52, a cover for $59, and provide a battery for the remote. Yes, it looks like the picture, and it does light. We haven't used it at night yet. Several annoyances. The gas tank just sits loose, and if you ever decide to move it (don't hope to), the only thing holding it is the hose. Not a great idea. The electric ignitor sticks up through the glass pellets, so the inset cover won't sit flat. My husband will attempt to cut it down. He closed the side door where you access the tank, and it won't stay closed. One of the aluminum pop rivets is broken off so the latch is broken. We aren't going to pack it and ship it back. He just found steel rivets in the garage, got his driill, and replaced them. I'm lucky he is handy. We have a small space where we put it, it is round like we needed. I guess it's OK, since it is as expected and serves the purpose! It just cost three times what it is worth.

I have this on my deck with chairs shown, which are very comfortable. It was shipped well and was not difficult to put together. I bought aqua glass to add to the clear glass and it looks wonderful. This company is known for their quality crystal burners. It has the burner cover that makes it a table when not using the fire. The mesh bottom holds a propane tank and it cannot be seen thru the mesh. I bought a tabletop cover from another company to protect the burner because the cover offered by the company was too wide and too short. My kids loved it and they may be getting one for their deck!

Just set this up. It took a few hours to convert to natural gas (you will need to buy a conversion kit separate but comes with orifice) but it is lightweight and can be easily moved if necessary. Can't wait to see it at night. You need 4 bags of glass to fill it up, I used a big bag of darker glass, then added the iridescent glass on top. Love this addition to my back patio. A work in progress.

Love this fireplace. My husband built a wood stand with wheels (sprayed painted brown), so now we can move the fireplace where ever we want on the deck. Because it now sits about 2 inches taller we use it as a an outdoor table to have breakfast, lunch and dinner at. We also bought some colored rocks to put in and bagged up the other rocks. It looks much nicer with color rocks.
