Plastic Chair Castors for Patio Furniture
Worked perfectly. Fit both the chairs and the table legs exactly. Just have a rubber mallet ready to help bang them in without damaging them. Original castors wore out and broke away. For this heavy iron furniture, provided the protection needed to keep from scratching and marring the deck wood and finish. Exactly what I needed.

Best glides ever. Perfect fit.
I really liked these well made gliders. Many reviews said they didn’t fit or were so very hard to put in, but if folks would read the instructions to heat them first, they go in quite nicely by first placing them evenly just inside the hole and then using like a small square of wood or something that gives you leverage to push all of it down in the hole evenly at the same time. I also used a heat gun gently where I needed a little added heat on a cold day as I was installing them in 40 Deg weather. They have to fit right to stay in, so don’t complain about tight fit. I also like the little hole that allows moisture to escape.

Good product, hard to install.
I bought these for a set of four chairs that I bought from an estate sale. After cleaning, sanding, and painting, I wasn't going to let these little plastic inserts defeat me. I followed some different recommendations from other buyers, ( soaked them in hot water, tapped them on one side, etc) and still some would not go in. So I filed off some of the side nobs and that worked. They are still very tight and hopefully they don't fall out. I would have given them 5 stars except for the difficulty in installing. They were exactly what I needed and wouldn't have known where else to get them.

Easy to replace
Worked great for patio furniture

They fit, a little hard to get in.
I am happy these exist. I needed them so my outdoor furniture doesn’t scratch up my new deck. The fit needs to be tight so they stay in place. That means they’re a bit difficult to bang in with your hammer so that all edges are inside the metal. Some said that soaking them in very hot water softened them up to make it easier. I tried that, but it only helped a little. Eventually I got all 16 in place. Nonetheless, I recommend if you need them. They work great. None have come out. Make sure you order the right size.

Not as thick as originals
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW. The review below was created after original installation. Now 4 years old and all cracking and falling out. My furniture was purchased in 1990 and the original glides lasted 30 years. These were the replacements, and they lasted just 4 years. I will need to try something from another manufacturer. ORIGINAL REVIEW I was pleased to find these like everyone else. Installation was easier for me than other reviews. I was able to push them in place without tools or hot water. It took a firm grip/press, of course. but was possible. The point I wanted to add is the thickness of the bottom slide surface. I noticed this issue while pressing them in. These replacement could be depressed in the center compared to my originals which were rigid to the hand. Using a caliper, I measured the base thickness of my originals at 3.75mm. By contrast, these replacements measured 1.68mm. Clearly the originals were more than twice as thick. Oddly, however, the thickness of the side wall that presses into the socket was slightly thicker on the replacements compared to the originals. Go figure. Hard to predict the life. My deck is cedar and not hard on the slide surface. My originals broke by apparently getting brittle. They show very little wear to the slide surface itself.

So HARD to install
So I've been saving bottle caps to put under the feet of these wrought iron patio chairs when it occurred to me that Amazon probably has a REAL product to do that.. And they do! These gliders come in 1.5" and 1.25" and apparently I need something in between. Tried the smaller size and returned (not even close). According to the package the inside diameter of the feet needs to be 1.5" and these should work. However, they do not want to go in easy, and I tried all the advice people gave (mallet in one side then the other, align very straight and pound in correctly, boil in water to soften first), and I tried a few other methods involving cursing and breaking nails. Now, I'm NOT an un-handy person, I am telling you this is strangely difficult. The pieces are too darn big! IMO they are tapered in the wrong direction; they are flared out from the outer edge and get more narrow at the cap. It would be much better to install if that was opposite. I ended up grinding down the rim of the sliders on a stone lathe so they could get started in the feet. After a couple pounds, if they were getting mangled I then needed to push in the edges with whatever needle-nose pliers, file, or small instrument that would work. Eventually I got them all inserted, and in that time our fencers installed 8 posts. Sometimes things just can't be easy. I will say that except for the few I smashed in against their will (with a frightening litany of complaints) the more properly inserted ones are not going to be falling out of their own accord and the thickness of the plastic ensures many years of use.

This product was not available anywhere and it was needed to safely use our vintage wrought iron bistro set. So glad to find them on Amazon, and they work and fit perfectly and does not scratch the flooring.

We have 40 year old aluminum deck chairs with 1.5” opening. I pulled Out the old with pliers, and gently tapped these in with a rubber mallet. Was very quick and easy and the chairs are now on our new composite deck. I would highly recommend

New foot guards on our wrought iron furniture.

Exact fit on our metal table and chair set and they work great as the chairs that were missing glides now slide nicely on our deck without damaging the surface, but for what you're getting (little plastic/nylon cups) the price is exorbitant.
