I have been looking for a solution for killing ants without poison. After doing Some research and reading it on someone’s review I decided to give this a try. So glad I did. I have several ant piles all over my yard and also have dogs and cats. I was afraid of them stepping into these piles because the ants Have a painful bite. I’ve used it quite liberally on the piles and the perimeter around the pile and it seem to have killed all the ants. The other problem I was having is that I put cat food bowls down in my carport and the ants would take over. The review that I read had said to use this product instead of using water. I had tried so many different ways of keeping the ants from the food. You always hear about people using a smaller cat bowl in a larger one with the water between them acting like a moat so the ants would drown. I decided to give this a try and it works like a charm and you are not dealing with having to change the water all the time. What is important is that you buy a food grade DE so that it will not affect any animals. Just make sure that it doesn’t get wet or else it loses its efficiency. Sand flies are newer to this area and since we put in a fence and upturned all the landscaping we cannot go out to mow the lawn or even sit outside during the day without being bit. Mosquitos have always been terrible but have gotten even worse as well and the ants are just coming into my house in droves. Going in the yard after 6pm is not even an option. The sand flies and mosquitos made their way into the house, I got those zevo plug in things and it helped but not enough to not wake up to more bites. We have tried the fog, sprays, letting the yard dry out, tiki torches, candles, you name it. My poor dog couldn't even go into the yard because it was a sespool of caustic chemicals and awful biting insects. My husband put this stuff down yesterday morning around the fence perimiter and house. We didn't have one bite during the entire day while we were cultivating the dirt to lay down new weed barrier. We were even able to stay out and sit in the yard until 9pm and our dog finally was able to lay in the yard. There was the occasional mosquito but nothing like before. No ants crawling all over and I just checked the Zevo plug in and it is full, I think they came inside to get away from this stuff and found their way into the trap. I love this stuff. I read that it takes a while to really see the results with fully grown pests but from day one it had a massive impact. I don't let our dog go near the border and won't for a bit just to be extra cautious but other than that if you mix it into the dirt/mulch it won't really blow around.
