Sturdy, fast and does not heat after long use
I wanted a good ethernet adapter for my laptops (mac and windows). So I tested it both on Mac and windows and got similar speeds touching 1Gbps(mac consistently gives 900+ mbps). I recently updated my internet connection and WiFi simply was not enough as WiFi caps at 200-400 Mbps. This on the other hand gives access to the full bandwidth. It's plug-and-play and doesn't require any driver installs. Feels very sturdy. I have bought Cable creation cables before and they are really good quality stuff. I like their products and I prefer selecting them over others because of the quality I have got till now. This adapter is no exception and does what it says.

Good product but couldn't get it to run beyond 100 Mbps
My recently purchased Ultrabook had no Ethernet port (i.e. RJ45 port), I therefore ordered this "USB Ethernet Adapter". Though my laptop has Thunderbolt 4 port, I could have brought a Thunderbolt Dock instead with multiple connectivity options but my experience with such devices hasn't been good, primarily because they aren't that stable, they eat up a lot of power (from the laptop's battery) even when they aren't being actively used, they get really hot, and lastly, they consume a lot of space in your laptop bag and and that on your table. I therefore prefer to buy individual adapters when in need. I anyway don't need so many options.Coming back to this adapter, it was advertised to be a "USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter", but my probe revealed the same to be a 100 Mbps adapter (please refer to attached screenshot, sixth line shows the link speed of this adapter to be 100/100).I tried calling CableCreation with the intention of seeking directions of their technical support to explore the possibility of driver update or something else that could unlock 1,000 Mbps speed. Their IVR was playing a recorded message that instructed the callers to seek assistance from the seller, I therefore assume that they are merely an importer who isn't equipped to offer technical support. Further, I tried to connect with Amazon support to which I was told that Amazon support is available for products having value of Rs.3,000 or more, they therefore arranged for a replacement without any hassle, the replacement arrived with the same problem, after being reported, Amazon promptly arranged for a refund.Enough of quibbling, now lets talk about the good things:Amazon's delivery was amazing as it has always been. The adapter is of build quality. It's plug and play feature really works (I've tested it on Windows 10, Windows 11 and Ubuntu 20.04 LTE), all of these Operating Systems recognized it without any problem as a 100 Mbps Network Adapter. It's Aluminum casing it also sturdy enough to provide the required protection to the underlying PCB.The Aluminum casing would also dissipate heat to keep the unit cool. The length of the wire is exactly 5 inches, which for most of the use cases is sufficient. The wire has good sheathing (i.e. protective covering), which will protect it from general wear and tear. The connector appears to be gold plated. In all the quality of the product is good.I am giving it 4 stars for its built quality and ease of use while deducting one star for wrongly advertising it as a Gigabit adapter (i.e. 1,000 Mbps adapter).BTW, its a Chinese product.

Great performance
I like the build quality. I took the aluminum case. My internet speed jumped several times now that I can connect my Macbook to the Ethernet port of my router. Easy to set up and use. I just had to download a driver. Note you will have to launch the driver application to use the adapter (that is if you closed it the last time you used it). There is a steady orange glow coming out of the Ethernet end when connected, and an annoying white (arctic?) light blinking rapidly when in use. Really bright and distracting. You may want to throw something over it if you are averse to flashing lights. Really satisfied with the performance and highly recommend this product.

Quality and Value for Money
I sit at a place where wifi does not come with full strength and my laptop does not have ethernet port so i bought this. i have been using the converter for 2-3 weeks now and i use it almost 6-7 hours a day because of online lectures and heats a bit but has a good cooling system and is worth the money. I will tell to go for it.

Good but Chinese made.
Good speed. I have seen till 25mbps on direct lan connection. I think it will give upto 100 Mbps speed.Quality is good. Metal body.Change duplex to 1 gbps in control panel.(may improve speed)Driver not needed or windows installed the driver by itself.

No Support in India & Rude email customer support!
Used it only 2-3 times and after about 4 months, even though the device is detected by PC and shows up in Device Manager, LAN connection light doesn't blink and cannot get IP address.Since it was within warranty I contacted their customer support and the following is their final response; "I'm sorry, because your order is due to the warranty period soon, we do not know the frequency and method of use, and electronic products will be worn out."This happens while it is within warranty period. The product built quality itself is good but if something happens it's not worth the headache contacting CableCreation support as they're not even based in India!

Brilliant device
I had struggled to find a reliable 2.5gbe ethernet solution for my laptop. I tried several USB C devices that would work great for a few hours and then drop the speed to a crawl (less than 500mb). This USB 3.0 device gives me a reliable 2.5gbe connection and has been working fine for several weeks now. Very pleased with my purchase. Will be getting another for my Snology NAS.

Works with Nintendo Switch Lite
Bought this for a Nintendo switch lite with broken Wi-Fi and it worked instantly plug and play. very much a life saver as only certain chips seem to work with Nintendo's hardware and this is one of them. Very happy with my purchase and so far it works like a charm. Build quality seems very good although it is only very early.
