Dozuki Back Japanese Handsaw (240mm 9 1/2") for Hard Wood

So I really wasn't sure about this saw. But it had to be better than what I had been using to cut my dovetails, which was a cheap pull saw that I'd picked up years ago at home depot. It arrived in one piece which is always a good thing and since I already had dovetails marked and waiting on its arrival, I went straight to work. As with pretty much any hand saw I've ever used it occasionally requires a partial stroke in this case a small push of the blade before pulling your cut. But when you do get it cutting it tracks the line like a Ferrari, and chews through the wood like an angry Beaver 🦫! Despite my imagery of the angy Beaver, the kerfs are impressively thin and silk smooth! And that was cutting dovetails in 1 1/2" (2 x 3/4" boards laminated together) Oak; with the grain, across the grain, and even through a spot that i don't think that even the grain knew which way it was going! The cuts are actually smooth enough that unless I mess up my marking/cutting on the pins half, I don't think I'll even bother to clean these things up with the chisels. Just clean out the waste and call it a day. Definitely recommend! My ONLY word of caution, is that you make absolutely certain that your blade is liked up before you start cutting. Because it is GOING to continue on that track! LOL

This is the saw I’ve *actually* always wanted. I’ve had a couple of pull saws in my life and none have had the metal bit running along the top. This is super sharp, and super easy. The blade seems to be the perfect thickness for various project needs and I think it’s going to last for a good while.

I cut a lot of hardwood for hand cut furniture projects - my hobby. Sometimes I'm not careful and a tooth or two gets broken on my saw - I eventually need a replacement blade. These replacement blades last a long time and are well worth the money. If nothing else, a new blade cuts true.

Can’t go wrong with z- saws. Cuts white oak like butter!

I am speechless. It's pure symphony of sound as the teeth cut through the fibres. Ahhh! What a beut. Steady as a rock and cuts hardwood like cheese. Yummy!

Bought as gift for carpenter enthusiast specific request and they were delighted. Sadly delivery was well over due but worth the wait!

This saw is to be used for dovetail cutting. Well balanced tool. A delight to use.
