The maximum, without it getting too weak is 16oz.

Q: What comes in the box? Any trial filters? A scoop?

Cute scoop, no filters. Started with a pack of 50 through Amazon, then went to 100. Flat-bottomed Melitta filters don't sit right, but they will do in a pinch, you just squash them down.
