Travel Mug By Hydracentials Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated 16 oz Capacity

I have used HYDRACENTIALS products for over two years and have been VERY PLEASED with the quality of their products. I use the water bottle every single day of the year. I have (14 ) of them!! I wanted to change it up some and get away from the flip up "straw". I tried their travel mug and fell in love with it. OMG!! I love it!! The very first time I used it, I spilled tea/water all over me and my shirts!! Then I FINALLY figured out by trial and error that you need to put your lip over the entire opening and I NEVER spilled another drop again! This mug NEVER sweats and it keeps my tea or water cold for a very long time! I put ice in it at 7am and there is still ice in it in the evening when I fill it and place it on my side table to sleep with. I would highly recommend you try this particular travel mug and see for yourself! I do not drink any hot liquids so I cannot tell you how long something would stay hot! I was using this constantly for coffee and water - crazy how hot and cold it can keep each!! I liked this so much I ordered the water bottle since it holds more but also so I wouldn't have to worry about my water absorbing coffee taste from the rubber piece...which happens to be why I left off one star. I hate the taste and smell of coffee absorbed in plastic or rubber. I have just ordered one from Healthy Human that has no plastic contacting the drink - just food grade stainless steel. The only downside with that brand's design is it does not have the convenient push button to drink and then seal it back up. Although that leads me to the second reduction in stars. Sometimes it took forever to get any of the coffee through the lid so I would sit with my head tilted back waiting, and waiting; other times it would come out hot and overwhelming. So the convenience of having a lid that opens and seals by a push button is somewhat outweighed by not having total control of the flow of the ridiculously hot liquids this things serves up. Seriously if you demand a hot cup of coffee (and hate how just pouring it in a mug can significantly cool it) this is for you; if you like to wait 10 minutes for it to cool before drinking, you will be waiting hours with this mug!!

Another awesome product by Hydracentials! Its kept things nice and steamy warm after 5-6 hours. I like the design of the travel mug. I took tea to work to help with sore throat, so I put hot tea in the travel mug 2:30am after 3 ½ hours it was still piping hot. At 8am I finished it off at 8am and it was surprisingly still steaming warm which was soothing for my sore throat. Impressive!!! I have to admit I don’t have much experience with other travel mugs but I don’t think my big bulky thermos brand thermos was that good back in the day. After using my first mug, this motivated me to get three travel mugs to give as gifts. I’m very impressed with this company!!!!

Finally I got wise and realized Hydracentials has a coffee tumbler too! Love the water bottle and now I love this coffee mug. Coffee stays hot for hours! I dont belive in stopping at a coffee shop and spending 10 minutes & $5 a day ... as most my co workers do. I make a better cup of coffee at home for much less. This mug has allowed me to savor my own delicious coffee all the way to the office and then some. Great size and keeps it hot till then end. Not to mention ... no spills! Love the open and close button! I just can't say enough about these products.

UPDATE: A few months into using it: I have cleaned / washed the mug constantly, just like any other mug - in the dishwasher (lid popped open). Recently I felt a weird thing in my mouth and I thought something had fallen into the mug. Long story short, because you can't clean the lid on the inside in a detailed way, a black weird slime had pilled up there (God, it's so gross...), even if I washed it through;y and regularly. Not only that, I let is soak in vinegar and hot water and, probably because of the hot water, the lid is now stuck on close - basically the mechanism is broken. When I took it out of the vinegar / hot water, the black slime was floating in the pot... Horror... My question is - for how long have I been ingesting those things?!?! So - think twice... I dropped it! Twice! No ding nor scratch! Four stars because, personally, I am not very comfortable with the "drinking area". A bit too wide maybe, sometimes coffee drips from the corner of my mouth and also there's only a small amount coming out. Overall, it is the best I have had so far. I only wish they would send me the silicone sleeve that I didn't get yet...

The manufacturer needs to improve the lid, I believe it has a spring inside that gets worn out very fast, I contacted the seller and he sent me 2 new lids without charge but they are also gone. I can not sip while I am driving because the lid doesn't work. The quality of the mug it's great it keeps the liquid at good temperature.
