Nice Boots!
Very nice boots with typical QC problems. I knew I was a size 8 and they fit well. The sanding on the sole edges looked unfinished and rough. The leather welt where it meets the heel rand was not cut even. Remidied with sandpaper and a razor blade. Oh, one of the speed hooks was super sharp and I had to use a small file to keep it from shedding laces. I also added kilties and some older laces I had laying around to change the look. Overall, very satisfied for them being on sale. Would buy again!

Great Boots!
Great boots. I worked with a veterinarian when I was a teenager. He always said "if you want a shoe that will last a lifetime, buy Red Wing." He was absolutely right. My Iron Rangers fit well and look really good. It is important that you buy half size smaller, at least, but you'll likely be ok with a full size smaller than what you usually wear. These things run big! Lot's of reviews say the same thing and it is 100% true. I am a true size 8, and I have plenty of room to wiggle my toes at a 7. Some have suggested that a wider boot should be purchased, as well, but I wouldn't recommend. Red Wing acknowledges that the boots run long, but they tell you not to get a wider size, saying that once broken in, a wider boot may slip. Breaking them in is a process. I used Leather Honey, and it helps. Mink oil is another option, but there are a lot of people out there who say don't use it. Conditioning them, along with simply wearing them will give you the fit you're looking for. Once you've thoroughly broken them in, get a pair of good insoles.

I wanted to like these boots but unfortunately I can not
I wanted to like these boots but unfortunately I can not. I've always bought my shoes in D width but these are a bit narrow in front of the midsole (heel) and the second set of stitching in front of the heel presses again the side of the foot, this doesn't hurts but makes it uncomfortable. I wore them for a month hoping the boot would stretch a bit and mold to my foot as others have stated and they did a bit but that stitching is still an annoyance. Perhaps for me, a wide sizing would have been better but its too late for that. Regardless of fit issues, I would not buy these boots again because they are not good for winter weather. The cold just seeps through the soles which i've never experienced in any other shoe. Sneakers or dress shoes would have been warmer. Also, theres no traction on snow or ice. There was a QC issue on my left boot. Nothing major, just a finishing issue. The side of the sole on the left boot was not smoothed out like it was on the right boot. I didn't even notice it till a day or two later so at that point the boots were worn and I probably couldn't return them. I probably wouldn't have returned them if I had noticed it before wearing them anyways. The boots do look awesome. The materials and construction used are quality.
