Review: My son loves the series of all four books. Review: My husband and I read this book and The Thrifty Guide to the American Revolution to my 9-year old son. My son reached for reading the Ancient Rome book first based on its illustrations. The books paint a picture of historical events and figures in a fun and engaging way as you put yourself in the shoes of a time traveler to know what to wear, how to travel, where to eat, who to have lunch with, and suggestions of what to see such as Caesar's battles and Cleopatra's beautiful wedding. My son loved hearing every word and looking at the illustrations, and it was a refresher of history for ourselves! We are looking forward to the next books in the series!

I have really enjoyed these books! I think it makes history seem fun and something the kids can picture. I’m a junior high teacher and my students thought these books were great! They appreciated the witty humor that was incorporated into the historical info and facts!

My 4th grader had already read The Thrifty Guide to the American Revolution several times. He's since read and reread this book more than five times. It is silly but has great historical references. A WWI and WWII history buff, he looks forward to possible other Guides.
