Disappointed with this product.
I purchased this bike primarily because of its size. About the same time my Wife purchased a Schwinn bike at Costco. Both bikes were used for the almonst the same lenght of time, were stored next to each other, and yet something happened: my Diamondback rusted badly and I mean rusted pretty much all through the handlebar, the front fork, the cassette, and the pedal arms. My Wife's cheapy bike is still there ready for use while mine is now officially waiting the bulk trash day because when I brought it to a local dealer I was told that there was no warranty to cover what is in my opinion a case of poor product quality. I must stress that the frame is in good shape but the other parts used were seemingly trash.I am now getting ready to buy a new bike and will never consider a brand that refuses to accept that it is unacceptable for any of its products to rust away so badly and provide some assistance. Heck, I would have been happy if they had even offered the replacement parts and I would pay for the labor but the so-called dealer suggested I purchase the parts quoting about $250.00 for the fork alone (I paid about $350 for the entire bike) and that further eroded my confidence in the manufacturer, the dealer and the product. So my recommendation is foregone: spend an extra $100-$200 for a trek like I am planning on doing and purchase an all around good quality bike.

Preliminary review
I ordered this bike from Amazon to get the 21" version not available from my local sporting good store. Unless you need one that tall, I suggest buying direct from a store like Dick's Sporting Goods. It's $30 less and they will build it for free. I was hoping to ride on Saturday but can't because the poor quality of packing. It's amazing how poorly it was packed since it came all the way from China. The rear brake cable was nearly shredded, so I can't use the bike until a replacement cable comes from Diamondback. (At least they're sending it for free). The assembly manual says that they assemble and test the bike then partially disassemble for shipping, but I can't imagine that they really did that, the rims are so out of true. It will take me a couple of hours to fix that. Also, the brakes don't seem to have ever been adjusted at all. Lots of small parts (like the screws for the reflectors) were just roaming around in the main packing crate. I'm surprised that they made it to me. Lastly, the assembly instructions were generic to multiple styles of bikes and so were almost more confusing than just ignoring them. Fortunately, I've assembled bikes before or I would have been lost. I hope to do a better review once I'm actually able to ride it. But, like I said - if you can buy one already assembled at a sporting goods store, that's a better option than ordering it.Update June 24. I finally received the replacement brake cable today, almost three weeks after calling DB warranty service. It was either the wrong cable or a generic cable. It was unusable with my bike, so I had to take it apart, cut the plastic cable housing to fit my bike, and use the brake noodle and brake cable boot from the original damaged cable to make a cable that would work with my bike. Very disappointing and something I would not recommend unless you are mechanically inclined and have the proper tools. Also, while waiting for the brake cable to arrive, I started to true up the front wheel and discovered that one of the spokes was so badly bent it would be difficult to true up the wheel. I called DB warranty service over a week ago and the rep said that a replacement would be sent by FedEx. When I called Monday, June 23, to find out the status of the cable, I was told that there was no record of the spoke order, so a new order had to be entered. Who knows when it will be received.Bottom line - DB so poorly packs bikes for international shipment that damage is highly likely, especially after domestic express services bang it around for a couple of days. DB's warranty service is slow and inefficient. I am close to sending the whole bike back to Amazon for a refund and getting a replacement directly from the sporting goods store. At least then I won't have to hassle with dealing with DB warranty service any more. My suggestion is to only buy a bike that has been assembled and shipping damage corrected by a reputable sporting goods store and skip Amazon altogether.

Diamondback Edgewood is more like CZ
It's good not great. Assembly was relatively easy. You will need to spend extra time on brakes, derailleur, and lubrication. Tires do lose air so diamondback needs to get with vendor, Kendra Tires and figure this out. Riding the bike is good. Bike us light but slow on asphalt. Does have good comfort with shock seats and wheels so going off-road for a little fun is good. It has an odd design graphic on the top bar of the bike. Front tire can get in the way of feet when turning so you need to be careful in big turns. I like thus bike and think it is a good value for the money but not a great bike. If you are looking for more....Spend more money and get an upgrade.
