Maybe the best deal in ultra wide lenses
I recently purchased the Samyang 12mm F2.0 AF Ultra Wide Angle lens for my Sony camera and I am blown away by the results. The build quality of the lens is top-notch and it feels solid in my hands. The autofocus is lightning fast and accurate, and the images are sharp and crisp with vivid colors. I am particularly impressed with the ultra wide angle perspective this lens offers, allowing me to capture stunning landscapes and cityscapes with ease. The F2.0 aperture is also great for low light situations, giving me the flexibility to shoot in a wide range of lighting conditions. Considering the price of this lens, it's an absolute steal. It's difficult to find a lens of this quality and performance at such an affordable price point. Overall, I would highly recommend the Samyang 12mm F2.0 AF Ultra Wide Angle lens to any Sony camera user looking for a fantastic deal on a high-quality wide angle lens.

Man, so close but its totally worth it
I got it for $199 and I have to say, this is one of the best lenses you can get for that price for APS-C, although that seemed to be an exception, I have to admit the image quality is outstanding and will do wonders for real estate work if you don’t have a FF camera. My only gripe is the AF, which I’m grateful to even have it, since it has a bit of hunting even in well lit conditions, so on low light you are better off with Manual Focus Also the image has a natural softness and the lens has an appropriate weight to keep it during travels or a whole shoot without getting tired.

A fun lens
This lens is actually a lot of fun. It is plastic constructed but the build feels pretty solid. There's no manual focus switch as far as I can tell but autofocus mostly does fine. Bit of a challenge for night photography though (star stacking) but nothing major. The wide angle of this lens really looks crisp and nice in most shots. The auto focus works well, but it sounds a bit crunchy compared to maybe a better quality lens. Still, over all works well and photos look good for the price.

Great lens for Sony A6700
Just received this Lens so this is an initial review. Lens is very sharp at f2 and even sharper at f2.8. Close-up photos are sharp. The focus fast but not Sony OEM lens fast. Be sure to update the lens firmware to version 3 or you will get non-stop focus hunting in continuous focus mode. You will have to purchase the Samsung docking station to perform firmware updates. I purchased this lens used from Amazon and the condition was like new. The used price makes this an excellent value. Also, the lens hood cannot be reversed and stored on the lens due to the shape of the lens body. The lens is so small that leaving the small lens hood attached doesn't take up much additional space. The negatives so far are 1) the lens hood cannot be reversed (minor annoyance) and 2) you have to purchase a separate dock for lens updates. I'll update the review after I use the lens more if necessary. So far, highly recommend!

Decent quality, focus noise can be picked up by even the oncamera mic
The overall photo and video quality of this lens paired with a ZV-E10 or a6400 is decent, however, the on camera mic can pick up the autofocusing noise. The only way to truly get rid of that noise is to wear a lapel mic. I am not sure if my lens is faulty or if this is just how loud the focusing is.

Budget friendly wide angle that does the job.
I don't shoot wide angle often so I didn't want to spend a alot. I am doing video with this lens on a sony a7 iii. I'm not one of those super technical people so I'll just say what my experience has been. First, this thing is built really light but with quality. Also, for 12mm, I was worried about if I didn't have time to switch lenses, would this 12mm be too wide to capture people...AND ITS NOT. Of course theres some level of skewing the perspective, but thats too be expected on 12mm lens. Lastly, when I put the footage next to my Sigma 28-70mm 2.8, in post, theres no drop off in quality. Now that I have this, I'm going to see what other budget lenses Samyang may have because I'm pleased with this one!

Excellent lens AFTER firmware update
As other Sony A6700 owners have mentioned, auto focus is poor on an A6700 until you update the lens firmware from V02 to V03. The firmware upgrade requires that you buy a Rokinon or Samyang Lens Station for $30-$60. The software needed is free from the Rokinon or Samyang website. I purchased this lens in October 2025. The lens firmware was updated from V02 to V03 in December 2023, twenty months earlier, yet it came with the older firmware. At least the upgrade was easy, and the V03 upgrade provides a massive improvement of lens focusing. Before purchasing the lens I knew that it was likely that I would have to have to buy a Lens Station.

Amazing but check Firmware
Amazing lens but if you get one that the continuous autofocus doesn’t seem to work and constantly hunts, you need to update the firmware. Sony changed their autofocus algorithm a bit and a lot of Samyang lenses stopped working properly. You will need to buy the Samyang lens station to update the firmware or maybe a camera store near you will let you use one. Once the firmware is updated the lens works perfectly =) Sure it’s annoying you have to buy a separate item just to update it, but that’s not Amazons fault.

Tiene buena velocidad de enfoque y un nivel de nitidez que me sorprendió para la gama de precio. Buena calidad de construcción y además viene en un estuche semirígido que no es común que las marcas incluyan en esa gama de precio.

I’m getting some error issues when I’m using this lens on my A6700. And the eye focus system on this lens doesn’t work perfectly. But it does the job well on my A6400

I got this lens for my ZV-E10, which I use mostly for videography, and I'm very happy with it. Its autofocus works great! I love that it offers an F2 aperture in a small and portable package that still feels very high in quality.

For stills I think anyone would be happy, especially for the price. It's quite sharp in the center and more than serviceable in the corners even wide open, only getting better as you stop down. I will be keeping the lens, but my main issue is that the autofocus during video pulses when focusing on something close to the lens. Obviously being an ultrawide angle getting close to things can be quite common, depending on your shooting style. Especially when used for close up talking head style shots, livestreaming, etc., where the camera is stationary, you can clearly see the focus pulsing and consequently because of the focus breathing the frame is also constantly zooming in and out a little bit.

Lente gran angular con una buena relación calidad/precio. Cumple con las espectativas, sin llegar a una nitidez extraordinaria y con algo de aberración cromática y distorsión.
