I am a geology Student, and having a hand lens is an absolute necessity for out in the field. This hand lens was perfect for when needed to examine rocks up close to look at some of the crystals, and identify the minerals in the rock. my only issue is and I think that’s just because I was using it on a daily basis for 10 days straight and fidgeting around with it is that the screw gets loose and eventually it might fall which is what happened to my friend in the field. so if you’re looking to use it for geology, and on a daily basis, you have to make sure to always tighten the screw because it will get loose and eventually fall out.

It has aberrations and finish is not the greatest but it's good enough for the price.For me pocket size and price where most important as I need to use it only from time to time.If you need to use magnifying glass often you'll be better off buying something more expensive and higher quality with better glass.
