Ok. I'm nigh on 70 so why oh why didn't I get one of these before?!? Instead of wrestling with a dirty leaky hose ....this is so easy to reel out to every part of large garden and it simply reels itself back in when I've finished, easy to use , sits out of way high up on wall, game changer.swivels 180 in it's cradle and can be unhitched in freezing temps if needed. Glad I bought this in the end, very high quality, easy to install. The wall mount unit this sits in allows for being able to fully turn it left and right to the side without the water feed pipe getting in the way unlike some other brands that don't account for this. Please also not that there is no quick release option when putting away for winter, there are two screws to undo, but it's easy to deal with and means no one is going to quickly steal the thing.

Made in the EU! It was easy to mount on the wall, all instructions and fixes are supplied. The retraction mechanism is smooth and strong. The wall mount is very stiff and feels like it will take the weight easily (the plastic is marked PA60-GF30, high strength nylon with 30% glass fibre infill). Even the hose fittings supplied are well made and the hose connectors pre-lubricated, great attention to detail. The 20m was perfect for my 12x12m garden, retraction takes a bit of learning, trying to do it too gently causes it to lock, letting it do it's thing works better, it has a speed reducer so won't smash back into the reel.

This is the best quality hose I’ve owned! Much much better than Hozelock or B and Q own brand which I’ve had before and found their hoses tend to twist and curl up and prevent water flowing. however this Gardena just works as you want time after time. I used to hate manually winding up the previous hoses which would never seemed possible without removing gardening gloves and then getting your hands wet and muddy from the hose. Now I just release the tension on the Gardena hose and it rewinds neatly into the reels. I can keep my gloves on for this so no muddy wet hands. It was easy enough to put on the wall as long as you can drill the holes and have two good fixings it’s easy to put it on the wall, much easier than assembling Hozelock or B and Q wind up reels. We’ve had it several months now and I wish I had bought it years ago

This has changed the attitude we have to watering our garden. Before, fumbling around with a hose that always got caught, kinked all the time and generally was a pain to recoil back up. This one just makes the whole thing simple. A little tug to make the hose start to reel itself back in. The four stars are because this is not completely kink proof. Even if you are being reasonably careful. It is a solid hose though and you may never managed to kink it. I went around to our water butts slightly around a bend and the hose somewhat kinked around a planter. Not a deal breaker at all but worth noting

Great addition to the garden equipment. Looks neat and tidy. You'll wonder why you didn't buy one years ago, yes I know why, there expensive, compared to a normal hose reel, but convenience comes at a price.

Works like a dream. I previously had a wind up hose that required you to turn the handle and it would always get tangled. This thing winds itself up super neatly so it doesn't tangled. The hose is sturdy and the hose attachment is easy to adjust.
