Can I use reusable pods?

No. Only the special super expensive Nespresso pods can be used. There are no after market Pods available this machine only uses special bar coded pods all others cause a fault.

Will this machine accept the new grind pods that have been brought out?

It is designed to take the Nespresso Vertuo pods only.

Should the water container have a lid?

Yes. The water container does have a lid.

Is it possible to get hot water out if you fancy an occasional tea?

We had a try last night and not sure it can be done to make tea. Equally the water temperature is not as hot as it would be from a kettle
