Trace minerals are very important especially if you drink filtered water. But we have mixed feelings about this
First off, the best company for children's vitamins is Standard Process, 100% organic from their own farm. They make 2 that we use regularly - Catalyn Chewable (a multi with trace minerals), and Congaplex (an immune booster, for cold/flu season). The problem (as always with Standard Process) is you have to take 3-5 per day, making it slightly inconvenient & a little expensive. So we are always trying new things. In this case, there are probably easier ways to get trace minerals into your children. Here's the lowdown on Trace Minerals Complete Childrens Chewable:TASTE:These are strong cherry flavor and slightly tart... somewhere between a cherry limeade and a cherry sour. The texture is pressed, like a hard mashed texture (not chalky like the old Flintstone vitamins). For small children, they are a little difficult to bite through.Only one of my children will eat them - the other either sucks on it for a bit (then spits it out), or just refuses. Fortunately, I have learned that all chewables will dissolve in a little bit of water, and then can be snuck into juice, smoothies, etc. It's sweet enough it blends in just fine.OTHER COMMENTSPROS:• Price is good ($13 for single bottle, $25 for 2 bottles)• Good mix of trace mineralsCONS:• Contains trace amounts of arsenic (don't freak out too much, you get this in normal food, and in some areas, your drinking water)• Contains synthetic vitamins (ie, folic acid vs real folate). This means it might not be doing any real benefit. In some cases, synthetic vitamins can actually do harm.TRACE MINERALS:• Trace minerals are essential for human health. You get them in fresh foods, and a few in water (well water, city water, etc). But if you filter your water like we do, you've got to find ways to supplement• Trace minerals will help prevent dental issues, and can even help reverse cavities. It's especially good if you can chew on them or drink them in waterOTHER OPTIONS:• This product is virtually identical to their liquid formula (they sell a 4oz liquid childrens, and an 8oz for adults)• The problem is,the liquid is very salty & bitter. You've got to dilute it a LOT.• The absolute best way we've found to sneak vitamins to children is smoothies. We mostly do strawberry, and add in a few drops of liquid trace minerals plus a bunch of other stuff, like Garden of Life vitamin or protein powder.BOTTOM LINE:• We're sticking with Standard Process Catalyn for now, as a multi + trace minerals. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't sell it, and 3rd party vendors are putting it on Amazon for a 200%-300% markup. It should only cost about $10 per bottle through your local chiropractor, ND, CFMP, etc.• For extra trace minerals, we're sticking with adult liquid form of the same brand, and adding a couple drops to smoothies.• Finally, one other product to try is Dr Mercola's childrens chewables (a multi + trace minerals). We don't mind trying a wide variety of supplements because we believe in loading up our children with vitamins. As busy parents, we just don't have time for illness... we probably spend $25 per month (per child) on supplements, and they are the strongest/biggest/tallest in their class, and never get sick.Hope this helps, good luck!

Folic acid not folate
The nutritional content shows folic acid which is not bioavailable. Folic acid blocks production of Sam-e required for energy and production of cell membranes.

Good levels of vitamins, taste is questionable
I love that they don't have more than the upper limit (as defined by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences) for a 4 year old for any vitamin/mineral. (Products with 100% DV listed on the label, or even less, can actually have an unhealthy amount of that vitamin or mineral for a young child.) I think that they taste awful, but my son is willing (though not eager) to take them and prefers them to another chewable vitamin that I think is worlds better, so YMMV.

I want to love these, but it's like pulling teeth to get my children to take them. The taste is not very good at all. Next time I will try the drops instead.

Kids don't like the taste and therefore refuse to take
I was really excited about these because the ingredients seems top quality, but my kids won't eat them. They do have a strong vitamin smell.
