Q: if I am wearing loose clothing, like loose pants, should I apply this even on my upper thighs and calves? or just at the ankles

Mosquitoes can reach right through clothing for their evil blood-sucking ways. I always put the repellent on before I don my outside clothes.

Q: Pic 1 shows n-diethyl-m-toluamide 31.58%. pic 2 shows deet 34.34% as the active ingredient. its advertised as a 3 pack. so which do you get?

All 6 of mine contain DEET, but they are several years old. UltraThon works well.

Q: About how many applications are per bottle? I'm going on a two week trip to Brazil with a total of 3 people.

I purchased 2 three packs for a 2 week trip for 3 people. We only used 2 of the bottles but it wasn't as buggy as we heard it would be.

Q: what is the difference between the lotion and the cream?

The cream, being a little thicker, seems to be easier to apply without dripping.
