Stumptown Coffee Roasters, Medium Roast Organic Whole Bean Coffee - Holler Mountain 12 Ounce Bag with Flavor Notes of Citrus Zest, Caramel and Hazelnut

I've been able to try at least a couple dozen different new-to-me medium roast coffee beans in 2025, mostly from local roasters, but some from amazon online vendors, like Stumptown. I've gone through two bags of Holler Mountain. It's one of the top three beans I've tasted this year. The flavor profile I get is a little different than the one Stumptown gives (citrus, caramel, hazelnut). The soft acidity is very well-handled, yielding a perfectly balanced coffee, but I wouldn't call it citrus-y. The two prominent flavors I experience, which are both rich/full in character, are walnut and cocoa. Those flavors, and the acidity, are l-o-n-g indeed. This is a delicious and satisfying coffee. I use a KINGrinder, and a Hario Switch to brew.

This is an excellent Arabica bean with full bodied aroma and flavor. It's different from other coffees I've enjoyed over the years in that it has a pronounced after taste/effect. It seemed to present a "ringing" flavor sensation at the finish. I can think of no other way to describe it. It could be the pH level, but I have no way to measure that. The bag mentions a fruitiness and that may be a clue. Whatever it is, I will continue to buy it and mix it with my french roast beans, which would be the right blend for my taste.

I was pleasantly surprised by this coffee. I can definitely taste the citrus. Normally I am a cream and sugar coffee drinker but with this a little sugar makes this a great cup of coffee. I would love to try some others from Stumptown Coffee Roasters! I will be buying this again.

Wow Stumptown coffee is the best coffee I have ever tasted. Smooth and fresh with a mild chocolate flavor. Delicious and will be buying again!

It's quality coffee, just not what I was looking for. I might even give the cup 4 stars, but... When I looked at the bag I only saw Creamy & Caramel - nothing about the whole citrus/berry bit, which for me personally, throws off the whole flavor balance and my expectations. I'd hate to suggest another product in a review but if your looking for excellent STRAIGHT caramel coffee grab caramel cream from Schuil, you won't regret it. If you to see if this complex blend is right for you I do find it recommendable I just wish the citrus / berry tasting notes were as up front on the bag as they are in the cup.

Best Coffee I've ever had!! The aroma is delightful and the taste is smooth and rich. The color is lighter than what I've been used to but then the coffee I've drank in the past wasn't worth the money. I know this coffee is so much better for my health not just dark sludge to have in the morning. I even quit drinking coffee for 2 years because it was so bad tasting, tasted burnt. Very happy to have found this company, nice to enjoy that morning cup(s) once again.
