These shades are just right for using with my plasma cutter or grinder. They're dark enough to protect my vision while light enough for me to see what I need to see when the arc is off. There's no substitute for safety. Sometimes I get lazy and don't want to wear a full helmet. With these there's no excuse to risk the pirate look.

Still happy with my purchase
These shade 5 lenses are exactly what I needed for my new plasma cutter. They are comfortable and lightweight as opposed to traditional goggles. However they are thin and I fear may get broken easily in a shop environment.
