Great way to make high level reading understandable.
Doing a fantasy book as a two act play is a great way to make the material understandable. The play follows the book story line very closely, and I am doing it as a puppet play to deal with the fantastic aspects of this fantasy. Only thing that I would change is to use larger type and better spacing. Reading the type has been hard on the eyes. Easy ordering and fast delivery.

Wonderful story!
This is the story of a bored boy, Milo, and the adventures he has while traveling through the Lands Beyond...he goes to Expectations, and then beyond Expectations. He visits the island of conclusions, which you travel to by jumping. On and on the book goes, chock full of rich vocabulary and figurative language. I just taught a literature class to our middle school students in our homeschool co-op. This is a fun story to read aloud to younger--and older-- children. Every time you read it, you pick up on something new. Highly recommended!

Great for 10-11 year olds
We have been reading this play as part of our summer "keep our minds active" activities. This play is perfect as not only does it make the kids think (there are a lot of play on words and basic philosphy) but it as about a kid who ended up in the "doldrums" for not thinking, and for not appreciating his time off during the summer. Very good reading for my 10 and 11 year olds. The fact that it is play version is making it fun for them to read.

Awesome read!
A whimsical adventure that younger readers are sure to love! I read this book when I was younger and decided to spread my love for it to my coworker's 9 year old son for Christmas. He was a bit skeptical when he first opened it and just gave me the customary "Oh, thank you," but after he started reading it was very enthused and quickly finished it! I also got a much more enthused thank you and was asked for more recommendations by his mom.

Not just for kids
One of my favorite reads of all time.best read out loud, and the chapters are a perfect length for bedtime reading; they take about 10 or 15 minutes.Although the character is a little boy and everything is fantasy, the word play and the life lessons are funnier as you get older. I reread it every few years, sometimes not even the whole thing.

The Phantom Tollbooth
Very disappointed in the pages. They are very flimsy and are the quality and color of a cheap paper bag. Gave it one star just because it’s a wonderful story but quality of the physical book is not good.

It's a script.....
It's a script, what can I say? I'm just glad I was able to purchase it.

Was hoping for the actual novel not a play.
I have no opinion regarding the story until I order the actual story to read.
