I had never even heard of Roasted Green Tea before. I love it! This hojicha has a much bolder flavor than regular green tea or matcha, although I can still taste that it's actually green tea -- roasted. I like it with some heavy cream and maple syrup, or just plain. The texture feels best when I mix the tea with a little water first to make a paste, then add more hot water. I usually still have residue in the cup when I'm done. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be, maybe I'll figure it out as I drink it more. At any rate, I love the flavor, so on a cold winter evening, I'll make myself a cup from time to time.

Smooth!! (Not grainy!) but the taste is milder than other brands that I have tried. I like a strong Hojicha flavor. At first, it tasted too mild, but after drinking several cups, I got used to the taste. Still, I continue my hunt for a Hojicha powder that meets my wants (good price for 100g (3.5oz), smooth texture, & strong flavor)

Very pleasant mild houjicha tea. It makes a good latte, or works on its own. I like this one better than other brands I have tried on Amazon.

This is SUCH great quality Hojicha! The flavor is exquisite, the grind is perfectly fine, and I feel it’s a great value for the money too. I have ordered multiple times now. So delicious for baked goods and lattes, and makes a wonderful cheesecake!

It's not as tasty as I'd hoped, and I don't know how much that is me versus the product. I've enjoyed looseleaf and bagged hojicha before, and I've enjoyed matcha powder before, but this was the first time I've tried powdered hojicha. It just tastes brown and muddy with too prominent bitter notes. It didn't have the toastiness or light smoke notes of some of the not-powedered ones I've tried. In my opinion. That might just be what it always tastes like when powdered. I used a battery powered frothing wand to blend it, and I did get a smooth beverage with a nice amount of froth. But also with the frothing process, and drinking it from a wide shallow bowl - it lost heat faster than I was expecting. And the lukewarm temperature make the (off? notes, bitterness, lack of character?) more prominent.

I've been drinking green mancha and thought to try the hojicha. My husband favors the cocoa flavor from hojicha and I love both. Not only tastes good but I love that they have health benefits too.

This was the second brand of hojicha that I have tried and I like it. It's on the darker,and nutty taste witch I like,it's a good value for the price. Would definitely purchase it again.

I've long like matcha drinks - particularly the American style where you prepare it in milk or add mild or cream. I simply love the "grassy" aroma, and, frankly, I feel a bit crappy after drinking coffee. This for me is a great coffee replacement. Hojicha - which is roasted matcho, but includes more of the plant - for me has an even better grassy aroma than regular green macha - and yet is quite a bit less expensive. I am very happy to have found this particular brand, and I will be ordering again.
