Heavy duty U-Lock and cable. Nothing will stop someone intent on stealing a bike but this definitely keeps the snatch and grabbers away. We have a number of local met& users alway roaming the town looking for a quick and easy grab.

I wanted a lock system to secure my bicycle when away from it. I like that the cable is long enough to be attached to my front tire and still have flexibility too. What I don’t like is the system to attach it to the bicycle. Doesn’t feel sturdy enough and feels lose while riding. I do like the key system to lock the lock.

We have a set of French Doors with a broken lock. In fact, we've been told we would have to replace the doors in order to fix the broken lock. In searching for 'out-of-the-box' solutions, I decided to try this bicycle lock as a temporary solution to prevent the doors from opening from the outside. This is just a temporary fix until we can replace the doors. It may not be very attractive, but it is functional and it provides a level of security that we were looking for.

I've owned a lot of bikes and a lot of U-bolt locks and this is by far the worst piece of garbage lock ever. It may look sturdy and similar to the Kryptonite locks it attempts to resemble, but like nearly all things the Chinese try to mimic, this is lock may look like a well-made Kryptonite lock but is complete garbage in comparison. I wouldn't lock a tricycle with this thing. Bike thieves don't deserve the word "thief" if they overcome this piece of garbage. The major flaw -- and there are too many to mention here -- is the horrible lock mechanism and the even worse "keys." I use the word keys in quotations because they are so flimsy and made from such thin, unhardened, bendable steel that both keys that came with this garbage lock broke off in the locking mechanism within a few months, rendering the lock completely useless. I guess that's a blessing in disguise because had these tinfoil-like keys not snapped off while I was locking up my e-bike, I would've been really enraged had I come out from work and seen this lock picked, which you can easily do because of the simplicity of the locking mechanism. So in summary, this is TOTAL GARBAGE and if you're bike costs more than thew lock, don't buy this piece of garbage. What an insult that Amazon allows this total piece of garbage to be sold. Did I mention this lock is TOTAL GARBAGE!? lol. You get what pay for and if you have a pricey bike, put a pricey lock on it and do a lot of research on YouTube on the locks that are the hardest to break. All locks can be overcome -- including thieves with angle grinders -- but this one is laughably bad.

Is a pretty heavy duty lock, the additional cable provides extra security and versatility to what you can lock it to. Is it the same quality as a top of the line locks that cost 4-10x as much obviously not but should be more than secure enough for the vast majority of people. I'd imagine you'd need powered cutters or a grinder to get through the u lock.Bottom line-If you park your expensive bike in the same spot everyday in a high theft area might want to consider something better, but for someone like myself (and id imagine most bike riders) who iare going to use it to lock a bike up for a few minutes to few hours in front of a store or in other public areas it's more than adequate.

very heavy guage, even an angle grinder going to take some time to cut this off in my opinion, i think i can relax shopping in a store, bike still there when i return, the lock and keys will resist corrosion, very smooth operation now while its new, its wide enough and very secure for a few hours if you get it around a steel sign pole,far betterthan any chain or cable alone, this would be great to secure a property gate to prevent the intire gate removed and stolen, im recommending it more than worth the money

This lock is easy to use in multiple ways. The cord is plenty long enough and the U bar lock is easy to open and close. Came with 3 keys so I have the keys in different places so if I misplace one key I have 2 backups. Very happy with this purchase.
